Gave our granddaughter a gift card for her graduation in May, 2023. She and her boyfriend went there for dinner tonight before they both return to college! The restaurant is transitioning into a bakery and cafe. Very limited menu for their dinner. They were so...disappointed as were we for gifting) $100 for them to have very little to choose from! Not a good way to treat your loyal dinner customers!More

Very nice professional restaurant with good food. Wait staff were very attentive and the food was great. We had the eggs benedict and it was the best we have ever had. Coffee was good and they bring a fresh clean cup for a refill. Bought...great croissants to take home.More

Love the constant changes on the menu! I think we tried almost everything on the menu. Walleye to burger deviled eggs all great! The only item we didn’t care for were the French fries they were a little mushy in the center and not really...necessary.More

I’ve heard of this restaurant, but had never eaten there until last night with friends. I couldn’t find the menu online, so I was not sure of the food that would be available. Anyway, meeting friends, who had not been there either, I decided to...take a chance. Each of the three of us had something different to eat and each of us thought the food to be excellent. The restaurant was packed, and although the decor was spartan, it was not overly loud. I highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of it’s food and will definitely be going back again soon.More

We love the people and love the brunch. We continue to come back but unless they stop putting a whole untoasted muffin on both sides, we will discontinue coming. honestly we considered bring in our own toasted muffin slices and scrapping the wonderful hollandaise, egg...and pork belly onto it. For a restaurant of your caliber to do something so ridiculous is amazing. Please get it together.More

Lovely restaurant but it was having a bad night. Our server apologized several times for the less than stellar evening. He reported that they were having a great deal of trouble with having enough staff. Our entrees came out 8 minutes before our sides but...the food was very good. The sea bass was excellent. Our server did the best that he could. We ate at 7 pm but they were already out of 3 of the 5 sides and half of the entrees. It was a Friday night so I wouldn't have thought it was a surprise to have a lot of customers.More

Here with a group from work for dinner after a long day. We had six in our party and made reservations to be sure we were able to get a table. They had outside seating, but we sat inside. The tables had a lot of...separtion between dining parties. Plenty of room for us all. We ordered drinks from their delicious sounding cocktails. Whiskey Haze was the favorite. It came out in a small Blantons bourbon bottle and you could smell the smoke infused drink. It was delicious. Our group found it difficult to choose from all of the different entree and sides. They all sounded amazing! When our attentive server came to see what we wanted we learned that if one person was getting the chef's choice, we all had to. We quickly decided we all would be adventurous and try whatever the chef decided to serve us. There were a couple of picky eaters in our group. We all loved what they had to offer. Each round was sized just right and had incredible taste. This was my first time. I will definitely be back.More

My adult daughter and I ate here recently when passing through Sylvania. It was a lovely evening and sitting outside was very nice, except the tables are too low and I felt it necessary to lean over with each bite in order to not spill...food on myself! Our waitress was bubbly and attentive and when I asked for a drink list I was informed that they don't have that but she wheeled over a cart that appeared to have bottles of wine on it and also a metal bin, filled with ice and some type of drinks inside and she asked what I would like. I didn't like this kind of presentation because I couldn't see what kind of wine was being offered, what kinds of drinks were in the metal bin and I would have preferred a list, which in my opinion is easier for the customer. I ordered a glass of champagne and my daughter ordered a vodka & tonic. Our drinks arrived and then we ordered food. My daughter ordered a caesar salad and I ordered a burger with a side of asparagus. The food arrived and the caesar salad was 2 small heads of romaine, topped with radish slices and a container of dressing on the side. I immediately stated, "Oh, you have to make the caesar yourself!" This was the first time I've seen this and although it wasn't awful, I think our server should have told us that when we were ordering. The food was excellent! We ended up sharing the salad, burger, asparagus and we were satisfied. Here's the thing - our server never returned after dropping off our food. She didn't stop by to ask how the food was, if we wanted another drink (we did), if we needed anything (we did, we wanted a plate for sharing) but she did return to ask us if we wanted dessert. We declined and asked for the check. A 20% gratuity is automatically added to each check and that is clearly stated on the menu but it does not excuse poor service. So, although the food was very good and we enjoyed it I was disappointed with the service and would not eat here again if ever in Sylvania.More

Ordered a Greek dinner salad. The only thing that remotely resembled a Greek salad were three pieces of feta and perhaps three olives in an arugula and lettuce setting. The cauliflower cream soup had little taste.

On a recent trip to Toledo (UT grad) I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place there. I guess I ate in their elegant dining room. For context I always seek out the best restaurants (my favorite here in Houston is by a...James Beard award winning chef). The service was some of the best I have ever had. As I was trying to decide on a cocktail the waitress gave me a sample of ingredient. I selected the Whisky Haze - a bit showy but very good and balanced. They gave me not one but two amuse buche - one on a smoking log (theme?). I then couldn't decide between the Parisienne gnocchi or the squash bisque - so for the same price they gave me a half of each! And both were mouthwatering (the gnocchi is more of a pastry style - I make a lot of gnocchi but never tried this style). I also had their salad and this is where I have my one minor complaint: it was very nice but only ice berg lettuce. I wanted wine with my entrée but really didn't want to drink too much so I asked if they could do a half glass. Sure enough. I then had the scallops - nicely seared. I would have loved to try their dessert but I was too full. Note Sylvania is a quaint little town area you can stroll around before or after dinner here.More

My daughter and son-in-law ate here and highly recommended it. I made reservations online and was surprised that there were so many openings, on a Friday night, last minute. Usually, that isn't a good sign. My daughter ordered the filet mignon and so I was...excited to try it. When we were seated, we had a speech about drinks, but no menu. Hard to order a drink, if you can't figure out what to eat. So, the waiter had to bring out the "food waiter". He gave us a menu with about 15 different "small plates". No appetizers, no entrees, no desserts, just "small plates." Which is fine, I've done that route before but I was wondering if I was even eating at the same restaurant as my daughter?? Online showed a completely different menu than what we received. They suggested that we order everything on the menu and split it, but that would be like $200 so we got about 10 items and split those. They made a mistake and sent us out one we did not order, then forgot one we did. Some of the food was INCREDIBLE! Some of the food was just ok. Overall, I liked the taste of everything. The service was off most of the time. Friendly staff but kind of stupid if they are bringing out a plate of food and they won't let you finish it before they bring out another and another. I felt rushed. Plus, I had to ask for a fork then a spoon. I was told to use my fingers for these tasty bites, and I'm like: "I'm civilized and there is a a sauce with this?!?!" How do I pick up sauce with my fingers???? Then, the music was way too loud. Seating was way too close to my neighbor, even though there were only 4 tables filled out of like 12. They chose to put them right on top of us. I'm not sure if I will go back. And if I do I think I would try the other side with regular menu items.More
