Quaint restaurant--could use some updating. Beautiful view. Soup is good most of the time, but I wouldn't get a meal. Big mistake. Sides are horrible. The bread bar is often stale and unkept (or empty). There is usually a manager who hides behind a little station up front and barely speaks to people when they come in. Some of the... More

We eat here solely for the Salad Wagon! Incredible spread of salads, soups, & fresh breads. So many salad choices that everyone will be happy here! Awesome homemade breads & honey butter!

We decided to go her because of the reviews. We were not very happy that it is not at all what everyone raves about. Yes there is a bigger variety that some buffets. I did not like that the mashed potatoes were instant and that the chicken was not seasoned. The gravy was good along with the shredded beef. The... More

One of my grandkids favorite places to go is the barn… they have an extensive soup and salad bar. Best thing on the menu is the beef tips and mushrooms! A little pricey since the salad bar is charged extra. but good. Be sure to bring bread or crackers with you to feed the wild ducks by the pond outside…... More

The structure itself is delightful providing a unique atmosphere, the service was great & the food was wonderful. I loved the senior salad bar special -- 8.95 for a nice array of greens, veggies & assorted salads + 5 kinds of soup (broccoli cheese was my fav) & a bread bar. Our 3 grandkids were w/ us & they appreciated... More

I got a group together to visit Ramseyer Farm for the afternoon and planned the buffet dinner at the Barn. They don't take reservations, so our group of 15 showed up and had to wait. But considering it was 6:30 on a Saturday night, a 30 minute wait for our group wasn't bad. We all enjoyed the buffet - HUGE... More

We drove about 30 minutes to The Barn for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. The waitress was extremely efficient and friendly. I had the salad bar ($12.95), my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The salad bar was adequate but nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the drive. The soups came with the salad bar... More

Sept-28-14 Sunny nice day.Parking lot had maybe 75 in it. 25 minute wait to be seated! Another 40 minutes till the buffet opens. The dinning room menu was nothing I can't get at Bob Evens or Denny's Not driving an hour for that crap. We waited for the buffet. Nice spread. All the normal fare, Mac & cheese, beans, corn mashed potatoes... More

Bit of a drive to this location in Smithville, but a nice one through smaller highways, towns, some Amish areas depending on which direction you come from to visit. We live near Philadelphia but when in Ohio our base is Akron. Markets and antiques or farm shops between this and urban locations, so always a pleasant journey. Decor is farm... More
