I recently had both lunch and dinner at this restaurant and was delighted both times. The food is wonderfully prepared and genuinely Italian. We had pastas, steak and chicken entrees. They were all very good. I've not found another columbus restaurant that prepares italian food anywhere near this good. The owner is also the head chef and he personally visits... More

Called in on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty busy, we had reservations although we were running late, they kept the table for us. Very impressed with the two mushroom starters we had and the special squid ink infused seafood pasta, also had the 3 grilled fish special and a cheese tortellini, two very good desserts all washed down... The food at Scali did not live up to the hype. I arrived at 5:30 p.m. and while the dining room was not overly full it took at least 5 minutes before anyone even approached me to seat me. Not sure whether my being a solo diner had anything to do with that. My server arrived at my table about... More

My wife and I are re-locating to the Columbus area and were looking for a non-chain restaurant for dinner. Scali was close to our hotel and we could not have made a better choice. I love family-owed restaurants and even more so when you feel like you are sitting in the kitchen as your food is prepared....you can literally eat... More

We first ate here when we moved to Columbus over ten years ago - friends brought us and we were very glad they did! Family run place where the chef/owner pays attention to his customers and the open kitchen is his orchestra. All dishes prepared to order, fresh and hot and never disappointing. Great for couples, family or a date... More

I hadn't eaten here in years. My memory of the food was excellent. Four of us went to dinner and each of our dishes had a red sauce. The sauce tasted straight from a can -every single dish. I would not return. I had to do overall rating based on our food. People lovely. Our food was poor

Our staple on a Friday night, Scali's. They have the best authentic Chicken Parmesean. If you ever catch them when they have their Sunday Sauce you won't be disappointed. They have the best red sauce I have ever had in an italian restaurant and we always order more. We love sitting at the bar watching the team cook as we... More

We were in town for a local Basketball tourney in Pickerington, OH. There was a 45 minute for a table but we are offered the last two seats at the bar. When in doubt Leave The Gun, Take The Cannoli. Open kitchen allows you to see everything going on behind the scenes, I highly recommend this place for a date... More

My husband took me to one of my favorite restaurants for my birthday. I decided to try things I'd never had, so I ordered from the chef's specials. Helen, our server was fun and efficient. I started with a lemondrop martini. Delish! Chef's special appetizer was a veal scallopini stuffed with pancetta rolled and sauted, sitting on a bed of... More

Not far off I-70 is an authentic and very good little Italian place. Everything is good and on my lifetime and worldwide Spumoni hunt this place scores!
