Life time of good italian food

We have lived in this area for years. Phil's has been our go to since the 60's. Never had a bad meal.

I went to this restaurant yesterday for the first time in a very long time. We used to eat there at least once a month and it has been going downhill for years. the decor is awful. I walked in the front door and immediately saw table sracked high with to go boxes napkins and menus. The place looked dirty.... More

Four of us stopped in the other night. Spaghetti with meat sauce and a salad were on special. We all ordered the same thing. Sauce was very different. I am not sure I liked it because it was sweeter than I am used to eating. But the price was good. The place is old and smells musty. Wait staff and friendly... More

This place is in the parking lot of the hotel I stayed at. what I would call a classic old style Italian restaurant. Dark inside but has a cool authentic feel. Great Service. Homemade it seems everything, not that I had more than 1 meal

Stopped in for dinner at Phil's for the first time in 13 years, happy to share the experience with our young son. Sadly the service, ambience and food quality have all taken a serious downturn, however. The young man who greeted us was welcoming , however the waitress was from the outset a melodramatic and moody mess. I only see... More

Old favorite. You can love it or hate it as has been stated. You get a lot of sauce on your meal and if you like it , that good, if you don't forget it. I like it, wife doesn't.

Well, was hoping this to be a gem. It wasn't. Workers were very loud and annoying. Our waitress however was great. Really good bread. The sauce is a either you like it or not. My husband's Meat Ravioli was over seasoned with some spice. Chicken parmesean was cooked well and portions were great. Prices are decent but most of the... More

The chicken was rubbery and the sauce was not fresh. The waiter was polite and apologized and asked if there was anything he could do. I regret not detailing my displeasure with the food.

I grew up on Phil's Inn and go back each year and will continue until the day I (or the establishment) dies. I've read a lot of the fellow reviews and noticed a trend that the people who were disappointed were first timers and didn't grow up with it. All I can say is, it is an acquired taste. Yes,... More

Very inconsistent on all levels. Have visited twice. First time I kept it simple and had a meatball sandwich that was delicious that had wonderful homemade thick sauce just like grandma used to make but it could have been a bit hotter temperature wise. Waitress we had obviously had a long day and was visibly tired, but was efficient. One... More
