Four of us went for dinner. Got the scotch eggs. Way overpriced at $9.50 for approximately 3 eggs. Mom said the perch sandwich was fantastic. I got a small steak that was overcooked. Chips that come with sandwiches are very tasty. Took waitress really long time to come take our order and then... read more

Hoping for a nice lunch, our family left disappointed and hungry. We ordered the Onion Petals as an appetizer...the basket was 1/2 full when removed..all thick crust...almost like deep fried pancake batter. Blugh. Our entrees were two variations of Shepard's pie, a Reuben Sandwich, and kid's sliders. The Shepard's pie was so poor...made with gravy tasting like bullion cubes and... More

I had the Boxy with chicken, mushrooms, onions, and peppers..it was delish. My husband had the Alfredo with shrimp he said it was excellent. We also had the Irish Nachos..yum! I recommend this place! It is not overpriced either. Everything tasted homemade. Staff was friendly.

If you are in or near Port Clinton and want very good Irish themed food make McCarthy's a destination. I had the "Bangers and Mash" and they were wonderful. Large portions, fresh, well prepared food. The wait staff was friendly courteous and prompt. Prices are reasonable and there is a good selection of beer on tap. And don't forget dessert,... More

The place is beautiful with Irish music in the background. The Scotch eggs and the homemade kraut balls were full of flavor. If you get the Eileen sauce make sure you get some chips. It's thick and its good. Drinks are generous and our bartender Danielle was very personable, friendly and working hard.

Stopped for a late lunch. Only two people at the bar when we came in. We were seated in a booth. Nice decor for Irish pub. We had the reuben and chicken tenders and fries. Both were good. Nikki, our server was great. I would go again.

We've been going here for about five years at least once every couple months. I've yet to have anything that I didn't like. A couple of our favorites are the tomato bisque, Fridays only, and the fried bologna sandwich. The hot dog, wrapped in a hamburger, wrapped in bacon with Guinness bbq sauce is treat.

Of course the place was CRAZY busy being just feet from the New Year's Eve "Walleye Drop"; however, the staff was very efficient, pleasant and kind. Our wait was about thirty minutes and the service thereafter was prompt and efficient. My only complaint was that at one point when our server returned to our table he smelled so strongly of... Port Clinton is a Resort Town and restaurants come & go because of the seasonality. McCarthy's has stayed and the reason is the food. Although they have the traditional Irish Pub food, they also have non-traditional food for those who savor more. I particularly like the potato soup that will warm you on a cold day & the Reuben Boxty... More
