Kind of a hole in the wall place in an alley in downtown Oxford, but it's a great little place with terrific burgers and beer. We also tried the fried mac and cheese balls. Yum. We were there on a Friday night and there were lots of college student and a upbeat vibe in the place.

Cheeseburgers are awesome! The tater tots were ok. The Chicken wings were very good, too. We have been before and the sandwiches are all well made and flavorful. There is a good beer selection. Unfortunately, it is hidden down an alley but ask one of the college kids and they will point you in the right direction! Good food value!

If you want a classic American dive, then this is for you. Greasy chicken wings, mini corn dogs, French fries, and plenty of beer on tap. The games are on, the staff is attentive. Not healthy living, so best to not be a regular.

This bar / restaurant is tucked away in an ally off of High Street, but is not a place to be missed. There is a reason it is frequented by all the local students—the good food and good atmosphere. As everyone else recommends, the burgers are always a good choice. However, I must add that the mac and joe bites... More

A nice hidden burger joint just off the main square in Oxford. Every college town needs a good burger bar and Mac & Joe's lives up to the challenge. The burgers are handmade and quite large with a variety of toppings. All members of our family were pleased with how there burger was prepared and with the sides. The turkey... More

The place was packed for Monday Wing Night, but tables were turning and the service was excellent. Great draft selection, a wonderful Bloody Mary complete with a kosher dill spear. I had an awesome burger...best in town hands down. My wife had an off menu chicken sandwich that was also off the charts. Not a quiet intimate place by any... More

Stopped in with the family to have a burger and fries. The place was packed, but we were able to get in quick. Only about a 10 min wait. The burger was great, they got my order wrong at first, but it all worked out. Would recommend it if your in the mood for a burger.

I've been going to Mac & Joe's for almost 30 years and their food has never been better than it is right now. I usually have one of their many varieties of burgers, they're always top notch. My wife has had the salads (huge and fresh) and the fish tacos (which were very good also). Decent selection of beers, both... More

In an era of kobe hamburgers, and elite burgers that you are charged a hefty price for, mac and joes stands alone as the best burger I have had anywhere. Cooked to perfection, crusty outside, with any thing you want on it, it is not to miss in oxford. Tucked in an alley, it looks like a sketchy place. But... More
