Drove down the main street to the right nothing there.....turned around and went to the left and found Barry's restaurant. As always I want to start by saying that I rate places according to the style and classification of the establishment. I consider this a family-style restaurant. I am very impressed with every aspect of this restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy with an 1800's, early 1900's decor and feel to it. The food was excellent and served in a... More

Berry’s is located about 20 minutes north of the Indiana/Illinois Toll Road, and is a worthwhile break from freeway traffic to step back in time to see Norwalk, Indiana. Other Trip Advisor reviews and the menu itself explains the history of this family restaurant, with the menu selection tending toward “comfort food/” The fried Lake Erie perch was delicious and... A group of four friends had just driven for twelve hours from Virginia to go roller coaster riding. This was a welcome find. Each of our meals was well-prepared, tasty, and not too expensive. It seemed to be a place where local people also enjoyed eating. The wait staff was very friendly. Altogether a great place.

Late lunch it was an good day to sit outside. Have not been there in years since they added and outdoor patio area. Would have to say that Misty our server has a great personality and is a very hard worker with alot of energy. I think that the fryer probably could have been hotter. The perch and taters were... Berry's is super friendly and expands to the patio in the summers. The service is polite and aims to please. The cooks really vary in ability and the night. But they excel most nights with their salmon salad. Which is my personal favorite. Lisa is a great bar tender!

We had dinner. I had Swiss Steak and my wife had the Ribs. Both were good, but not special. Had the twice baked potatoes and they were good. We like to eat at local restaurants and this was still better than a chain. I would recommend that you pick this instead of a chain restaurant. Get a table, the booth's... More

Berry's is the dichotomy of an "historic restoration" and the maxim"if it ain't broke don't fix it". The building has been there since 1867 and the restaurant since 1946. The interior and exterior of the building have painstakingly and tastefully restored, it's like taking a step back in time from the tin ceilings, stained glass, paneling, vintage photos and Coca Cola... This location actually has two sides connected by a walkway. We entered on the Diner side, which has a very nice casual decor. Nothing like your typical diner. We were escorted and seated on the Restaurant side, which is in what used to be a very fine hotel lobby from back in the famous railroad days. It is very beautiful,... More
