We visited Yamato for Hibachi-style dining. Started with sushi which was very good. Then the Hibachi chef showed up, tried to do a lot of tricks and stunts with his utensils, cooking oils, and food, and served almost everyone a full plate of food ... except for 2 of the 7 family members present. Moreover, he mixed up everyone's orders.... More

Stopped at Yamato for dinner a few nights ago. Ordered the Bento Box. Having visited Japan last year, I guess our expectations were too high. The Bento wasn't really bad, just not much like the authentic Japanese we were hoping for. Maybe our opinion was influenced by the COUNTRY MUSIC playing overhead. Really?? How about some soothing Japanese music, music... More

Ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari and was disappointed. Appetizer was over cooked and tough. As well, the beef broth soup coupled with a side salade nothing special. Although the susi made up for it. Recommend the Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon speciality roll. Has bit of of a kick if you're into spicy food. Also, speciality rolls have 8-10... More

Took my wife here for our anniversary. The staff was very pleasant and we were seated quickly. we chose to be seated at a table rather than the hibachi grill (not fond of sitting at a grill to eat with a lot of strangers) Waiter took our order and was very polite and did not check on how we were... Sometimes staff is rude/short. Forgets to bring appetizers all the time...Sometimes they're ok, ad apologize when they forget stuff. Food tastes really great. Priced more than it should be, but not a lot of options in this little city-town. They still have "Thursday" spelled wrong on their sign outside.

It was a great dinner for the family. We sat at the hibachi and also order sushi on a boat. It was beyond great. A place like this in Lima? It was a joyful ambiance for the kids. I loved the Buckeye and Ninja roll. The chef was entertaining for the kids and we loved the show! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have traveled the world, lived in Japan and have eaten at several restaurants in the U.S. This is without question the worst service I have ever experienced. My wife and I spent 3 hours from entering to leaving the restaurant. We had heard the food was good but in no way did it rise to the investment in time.... More

Some coworkers and I stopped in here for dinner one night and chose to go with the hibachi table. It was just the three of us at the table and it probably would have been more fun and entertaining had there been other people with us, but overall, the restaurant was not very busy on this particular weeknight. Our waitress... More

This was our first experience eating at a place like this and we were not impressed. We order the steaks and our friends ordered sushi. We all ordered at the same time and of course the sushi came first and they ate that, we tried it but it wasn't our thing. They really enjoyed it though. They finished their first... More

our waitress worked hard to accommodate our several needs (like the fact that my jasmine tea had barely any tea leaves in it and needed a new pot) but despite the great service the food really was just so-so. Not bad, just nothing to write home about. My "spicy basil chicken" had absolutely no spice in it, and the basil... More
