Small home style place

We had a great breakfast here. The veggie omlet was great as were the buckwheat pancakes. Popular and wholesome food.

Atmosphere was fine, the food was substandard. We started out with a hair in one bowl of slaw. My fishtail was straight out of the microwave. The catsup was watery. The mashed potatoes were hot though not much flavor. The gravy was bland and odd flavored. Iced tea was peculiar flavor. My wife ordered santa fe chicken..it consisted of a... More

Look, this is a good ole down home old school place to eat. The food is good, they have their daily specials, and some of the food is fresh some is frozen. The owner and staff are simply awesome. They know my children well and when we go to eat there they always treat them like their own family. I... More

If your looking for one of those small town local venues this is the place. The locals dine here especially for breakfast. Wide variety of traditional fare served with a good cup of hot coffee. Good Service with a smile. Daily dinner specials are written on the board and feature baked steak and chicken. Homemade pies are very good but... More

So, we were meeting some old friends from high school (we're in our 50's now) and my husband said "Let's eat somewhere we can't eat in Oregon, somewhere Ohioan." I thought...."We've driven by Roots a lot, and I think it's privately owned, could be great. Ratings were okay... We ordered...food was not good. Husband could barely choke down his fish,... More

Really enjoyed our breakfast at this small, family-owned restaurant. Good quality, inexpensive "country" fare in plentiful portions served promptly by an attentive wait staff.

Probably the best home cooked meal I've ordered in a restaurant in years. The entrees were very good, as was the pies. Definitely somewhere to seek out.

This place is beyond fake, they act very gospel and church going and you can hear the owners talk poorly to their staff and sometimes hear them gossip and claim they have homemade pies...which come from Gordon food services frozen.along with many other dishes they serve claiming it's home made I would never recommend this over priced establishment to nobody ever

We heard about Roots from a Vet at the VA. He was right on about the food. Great homemade cooking you can not get anywhere else. You do not need fancy walls or neon light to give a down home family cooking.

the atmosphere is very quiet, but its old....old fashioned vinyl table cloths, silverware, and glasses look like something out of the 70's, but the food truly is homemade. ...same family has owned it for decades.....extremely reasonable prices. ....recommend all of the delicious homemade pies....
