Lovely place for a good family meal or just a place to meet up with friends. Locally owned; the best restaurant in Lancaster.

We enjoyed a lovely light lunch [perfectly prepared fish with watercress garnish and brown rice], small salad [just the right size and priced right too], and a mini dessert, coconut crème brulee, that was four bites -- the perfect ending to a light meal. Love those mini desserts -- wish more restaurants would do that. Service was very good. I... More

Each year during the month of June, Shaw's features different lobster specials for four weeks. My favorite is the half four pount lobster. Of all the lobster I have eaten, this is the best.

When I lived in Lancaster, Shaw's was an outstanding restaurant, a jewel of fine dining in this small industrial town. I've visited several times since I moved away and I've always been very satisfied. As a result, today's less than average performance there came as a real disappointment. First, the service was very bad. It was 20 minutes from the... More

While the fare at Shaw's appears to be dated, it's still not bad. Service is extremely slow, so don't go unless you have nothing else to do that evening.

This was our first visit to Lancaster and Shaw's - and it came during some tremendous spring storms, complete with the town's fire department's setting off the tornado and storm warning sirens. As we were right by Shaw's when the sirens were sounded, and as the rain was about to come pouring down, we ducked into the closest port available... More

First, I liked eating here. I ordered the half lobster, but it was chewy and overcooked. I liked the presentation however and will try it again to see if it's better. I also ordered the French onion soup and frankly it was downright offensive. There was so much cheese it sank to the bottom of the soup and it was... More

The food here is always changing with the season. Always something new on the menu. They have a daily menu. The service is a little slow because they make your meal to order. Nothing is made ahead. Don't go if you are in a hurry, but if you want to take your time and enjoy a good meal, this is... More
