We live in Lakewood. You'd think we would go to the hyper-popular Melt all the time. Nope. We've been twice since it opened. Gloppy, bland, huge portions do not appeal to us. It was vaguely disgusting watching people waddle in and inhale mountains of carb-heavy and fried food. I liked the decor in the bathroom. I guess that's a plus.... More

They won't accept reservations and force you to wait at least 45-min to an hour on average. So if your starving, think twice. After putting in our time wating, we were seated near the bar and by the front window. The waiter appeared shortly thereafter and took our drink orders which arrived in a timely fashion. We then placed our... More

Our family loved this restaurant. We love stopping at DDD restaurants and this one did not dissapoint. We walked in at 7 on a Friday expecting a huge wait and we waited only 10 minutes. Very friendly staff and a real chill vibe. Very cool! We tried the Wake and Bacon which my son wanted again the next morning for... More

Melt has a nice niche, putting their mark on the classic grilled cheese. The menu is huge - as long as you want some variation of grilled cheese. It is easy to find one for any taste. They even have fried twinkles if you are so inclined. But the sandwiches are so large that I had no room for dessert.... More

Food fit for a glutton. Not that tasteful either. Plenty of American fans, no doubt, but do yourself a favor and find another place to eat.

I decided to try Melt after seeing an episode of 'Man v Food' on the Travel Channel. As I have connections in Cleveland, Ohio I went here with family to see what it was all about. I ordered the 'Half Combo.' It was half of their 'Kindergarten' grilled cheese with a salad and a coup of soup. I ordered the... More

Be prepared to wait an hour or more for your chance to enjoy an amazing grilled cheese sandwich. I'm not a fan of waiting hours for my meal but I can say these are the best grilled cheese I've had. Portion sizes are mammoth and the sandwiches can easily be shared by two adults. Personal favorites are The Monte Christo... More

We were regulars at Melt in the 'early' days before multiple locations. It took over a small dive-bar location. They expanded later and doubled their size but not the kitchen(Lakewood location). Bad decision. Expect to wait upwards to an hour for seats...then again for your food. Not sure how bad the other locations are. We went to the Cleveland Heights... More

have heard about this place specializing in grilled cheese sandwiches! They did not disappoint - HUGE sandwiches of all kinds, could only eat half - coleslaw was good too. Bring an appetite for this one!
