Yummy seafood and great value for money

It was a very busy night at this popular place, people were queuing outside. We ate in. I had chips , salad and ocean trout. The other one had fishermans platter and chips. All was fresh and crisp. We had fresh salad and ice cream for pudding. The ice cream was really creamy and the fruit salad... read more

Popular eatery but we chose unwisely. We chose battered barramundi and crumbed flounder, both frozen and not at all fresh. Definitely choose fresh local fish/seafood as they look and smell delicious. Limited seating, no bookings, take away available in fact cafe now called UTA. BYO alcohol. Poor rating because of our poor choices not the cafes fault

Ate here twice and whilst food was okay this place could be a gold mine. Queuing for twenty minutes to learn a pizza would be another fifty minutes is really not acceptable. So didn't get a chance to taste the pizza opting for the quicker fish n chip option. Cannot understand when daily cruises finish the same time why you... More

Whilst not called Schwock seafoods anymore, this mainly takeaway place on the Esplanade makes a terrific pizza and great fish and chips. There are a few tables available to sit and eat if you get in before the Gordon river cruises arrive back in the early evening. No bookings available though. We ordered at the counter and the staff bought... More

After a long day spent cruising the Gordon River, my children wanted something simple for dinner so we got some pizzas to enjoy back at our cottage. To our surprise, there was such a long queue of people ordering as well as waiting for their pizzas. There were also a lot of people dining in on an otherwise quiet Wednesday... More

We just wanted an easy meal in our hotel room, and got two small pizzas. Terrific taste with plenty of toppings and served fairly quickly even though the queue was long.

Their restaurant is now called "Union Takeaway". It is a beautiful little restaurant in a gorgeous town just by the water. The food was perfectly cooked and the staff were super friendly. Definitely worth a meal when coming through Strahan.

Reasonably priced fish and chips and pizza offering a great alternative to the many other over-priced tentacles of the 'Strahan Village' empire. On a good night, grab as takeaway and head over to the park across the road to eat.

Four of us had cheap and delicious seafood meal here-total price less than $80. By way of comparison the previous night we dined at one of the "finer" restaurants in Strahan and taking out the cost of drinks paid, almost $200 more for really ordinary food. The service was just wonderful-friendly, helpful and they seem to really like working here.... More
