Take away lobster

I remember getting fresh lobster from Hurseys some 20 years ago and was hoping I could re-live the memory We were in luck. We bought a lobster to take away. The kind woman halved and cleaned it for us. Our dinner that evening was the freshest, most succulent lobster, a small loaf of olive bread... read more

this seafood outlet has had some good raps on it but in our experience the Fish was overcooked and dry however the chips though undercooked were plentiful with the medium serve more than enough for two people

My wife and I ate supper here, actually our last supper after an incredible 15 days in Tasmania. Without doubt the WORST meal during our trip to Tasmania and one of the worst in the 8 years we have lived in Australia. 2 prawn salads. Prawns terrible. 1 flathead and chips. NEVER tasted such bad flathead. My wife had a... More

We enjoyed very good scallops and chips. Everything was very fresh and well presented. Crumbed scallops were a delight!

Acting on a local recommendation, my wife and I had lunch at Hurseys during our visit to Stanley. As expected, the menu was strongly balanced around seafood. We chose the seafood platter for 2 persons, and were not disappointed. The huge platter was top quality cold and hot seafood, and with a great deal of work we made our way... More

The fish & chip good but calamari & prawns very tough, not the best seafood I have had, service was efficient price... More

Luckily we booked a table (even though it is a cafe - not a restaurant) as the place was packed. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly without being "over the top". We had a table with a view overlooking Stanley Harbour. Would recommend this cafe for sure !

Hursey Seafoods is a Stanley icon, the food is fresh, very yummy and reasonably priced for good seafood. The atmosphere was nice looking out over the bay.

The fish and chips have always been good from here. I frequented the place regularly when I lived in Tasmania, when I went back had to go to Hursey's for a 1 & 1. Still great. Scallops are good to. Pleasant staff, value for money.

Upper floor is for dine-in, and the lower floor is for take away. But there are tables that you can enjoy your take away food on the lower floor. Fish burger was so delicious and big in size that it can fill up the stomach of 2 ladies. We order a fisherman's platter which included prawns, squid ring, fish and... More
