We had travelled from Bicheno to St Marys, that in itself is a feat, as it is a long and winding road. We had been told about Mount Elephant pancakes, and stopped there for a break. It is a quaint cafe, and interesting. We had a pancake each and weren't disappointed. They are large, but also expensive ($16). The staff... More

stopped on our way back to Rowella and thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the quirkiness of this place. Staff were great, food delicious and the atmosphere wonderful.

Rocky road pancake= amazing! Fast and friendly service with a nice and warm environment. Not having eftpos could be an issue for some customers.

We were given the heads up from some locals to look out for this gem along the Elephant pass, we were so glad we stopped. It was raining and foggy and the Mount Elephant Pancakes were warm and welcoming. Good service in a lovely setting and the savoury pancakes we had were delicious.

This place is one of Tasmania's gems. It is situated on a windy road outside of St Mary's. Interesting decor and extensive choice of sweet and savoury pancakes. Delicious. Staff friendly.

We had heard about the excellent Elephant Pancakes and we were not disappointed, between Bicheno and St Mary's it was perfect for breakfast after our night in Bicheno. A wood fire, cosy mountain atmosphere and yummy pancakes.

Surprising delight on the way up a steep hill from Bicheno. Really enjoyed my lemon sugar gluten free pancake and Irish coffee on such a cool day. The staff were helpful and friendly, the interior interesting with wooden carved chairs- quite comfortable too! The view was lovely and there was a friendly ambience.

In between Launceston and Freycinet National Park, on Mount Elephant sat this little pancake shop. Our friend said it was a must visit and we agree. The crepes (pancakes) both savoury and sweet were both on the money, so it make the drive a lot more tolerable. The sense of humour of the owner was also somnething that I appreciated.... More
