Good Bread Good Pies

Halfway through our 3 week roadtrip of Tasmania. Have sampled many curried scallop pies up the East Coast and across to Launceston. St Helens Bakery have a pretty good scallop pie. Could have had a couple more scallops but curry was nice and well priced. Was satisfied and wanted another!

Well located in the centre of town, coffee and carrot cake served a smile. Free Wi-Fi and sit outside in the sun, what more could you ask for.

Bakery lines are great. Coffee a little too hot. May have been an off day for the barista? The bakery is well located within the CBD.

We are recommanded to have breakfast there, and the big breakfast it truly quite good, having toast, bacon, sausage, beans and vegetable. It's a good value for money.

The food we had here was fresh & tasty. All good, no complaints. We had both hot and cold food, (my hubbies a pie man) & he rated his pie 6.5/10.

The best thing we found about this place was the sandwich bar. Can get a freshly made sandwich or wrap for $6. Perfect for taking away to some of the local walks, national parks etc. healthy option, cheap and cheerful. Exactly what you want for a bakery.

didn't enjoy the food here, the pies were cold, the pasties were disgusting and cold, not worth what we paid for them.

Conveniently located on the main drag as you leave the shopping area. Comfortable seating both inside and out. For solo travellers a variety of newspapers are available with your meal-well to read anyway. Sausage rolls, large pies and party pies are available along with a variety of other foods and cakes. All looked yummy.

When you need a quick feed on the go, go here. Simple sandwiches are excellent as are drinks , hot or cold. If you want a more up market eat, they can also provide a good feed at a great price.
