I can see why this place has such mixed reviews. I really think it depends on what dish you order. First up, staff were lovely so no complaints there. As for the meals I ordered the venison and my partner ordered the lamb. Both we were advised would be cooked medium rare, which is fine by me. When our meals... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our three course meal at Felons. The wait staff were attentive and knowledgable, the food was superb, presentation excellent. Loved the local produce and the dialogue in the back of the menu as to where products were sourced. Good range of wines. Overall, very pleasant experience.

Not many choices in Port Arthur for dinner so we decided to take a chance on Felons and we were pleasantly surprised. The Tasmanian sourced produce was all kinds of delicious - perfectly cooked and full of flavour. We enjoyed reading about the food as well - where it was sourced from, and what was special about it. The wait... More

Recently had the best steak of my life in this restaurant. Whilst the restaurant doesn't look like much both the service and food was incredible. I was here with about 10 others and our meals came out together, drinks were resonably priced with lots of great local stuff on offer. Meal was massive and steak cooked perfectly, i couldn't finish... More

This was one of the best meals we had in Tasmania. The chefs know their stuff—seafood chowder, venison, quail, haloumi salad—superb. We had dinner with a Ghost Tour package and it was a great night. The service was also terrific ... the one male waiter worked his butt off but was always charming. It's a shame the bistro itself is... More

Was a bit disappointed to be honest. We just finished our Ghost Tour on a high, had wandered the art gallery waiting for our booking & then sat & waited for an hour to get our meals. We struggled to attract the attention of waitstaff to get additional drinks & they were very slow clearing dirty dishes. I wouldn't recommend... More

Wasn't expecting much from a restaurant in a tourist location but food, wine and service all exceptional. I had a well cooked and tasty chicken parmie and a companion had a seafood pasta that she raved about for days after. Service was very welcoming and lovely fire to warm up (needed after the afternoon ghost tour).

Cafe cooks charging Restaurant prices. Whilst the waiting staff (2) is friendly it was found lacking. 20 people on seats and waited 18 minutes to be asked for a first drink. Sides did not arrive with meals, nor after we mentioned. The food was average at best - and stuck 20 nouveau years in the past. The menu reads well... More

We had dinner as part of a Ghost Tour package, 2 courses of your choice. Between us we tried the meat platter and seafood chowder entrees - chowder was amazing, meat was meh. For main, seafood pasta and eye fillet - both were good, steak cooked perfectly.
