We were most surprised with our afternoon, we hadn't booked & were lucky to have a window table with a view. Surroundings were very pleasant, staff were outstanding, both wine & homemade meals were thoroughly delightful. Prices were certainly worth what was delivered. They have a very special Christmas Day Menu...sorry we can't make it ...

After a aimless Sunday drive, we found ourselves outside this lovely character Mill at Longford. The other times we've come past the carpack has been packed to overflowing so we've never stopped before - this time we grabbed the opportunity to experience what we've heard so much about. Set in an old Mill, the Rivers Edge Cafe manages that elusive... More

We pre-booked a large family gathering and were seated at 2 different tables. Menu was on boards set high on a wall in chalk - for those of us who were short sighted, it was difficult to see. The waitress offered to read it out, however it would have been useful to have something in front of us. The wine... More

From the moment you step through the doors you can feel the warmth and know that the experience and food will be memorable. Nothing was too much trouble for chef and owner, Jane. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and the roasted capsicum was divine, perfect Pinot suggestions and a warm fire, with wonderfully welcoming staff, will be back !

Enjoyed a delightful lunch at this gem of a restaurant in lovely, but isolated area in Tasmania. Greeted at the door by the 4-legged maitre'd - yes, a lovely, quite old canine who settled at our table for a short while before welcoming more guests for lunch. A lovely young lady outlined proceedings and we proceeded to enjoy a very... More

Our table of family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our River's Edge experience on a sunny Saturday morning. The platters were presented beautifully, the food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly.

Revisited this wonderful restaurant for lunch today. As before, we found the whole experience magic. The gardens of this beautiful old building create a wonderful ambience and the food, while limited in choice, is truly excellent. Jane goes to a great deal of trouble to make sure that your experience is memorable. We could not give it any higher recommendation,... More

We had a beautiful relaxing time at the Riversedge Cafe. The staff were very friendly and gave fantastic service. The food was amazing, both in presentation and taste. Generous serves and average prices. A must do again place.

Friends had visited this restaurant and said it was a lovely spot for lunch. So took a Sunday drive to check it out. Warm cosy place with wood heater burning, lovely for this time of year. Was greeted in such a warm lovely manner, guessing it was the owner. Not a large choice on offer, about six dishes. Varied from... More

We stopped here for lunch recently and had a wonderful meal. We were welcomed by the friendly owners who discussed the menu with us. There is the choice of sitting inside or on the balcony surrounded by a lovely garden. I had a wonderful Chicken Risotto, which I would recommend. It would make a perfect venue for a wedding or...
