We stayed as a family - 2 adults and one seven year old for 2 nights. While a better venue for couples upstairs we were quite happy with the facilities. They do have a cottage as well which would probably be better for a family. The owner Toni is very hospitable and welcoming and our little man Zach had a... More

We only spent one night here but we were most impressed with the friendly atmosphere. I guess that comes with being among motorcyclists, we all get along well together no matter what the venue. But the proprietors are open to anyone, not just motorcyclists, many locals appear to have made it their preferred spot for coffee. The unique decor is... More

The Royal Cafe in Walcha recently refused to serve two on duty police officers a coffee order because they were police officers. These two police officers were out that way after receiving reports of a motorcycle accident. This venue specifically targets motor cycle riders. These officers are the men and women who attend to numerous motorcycle accident that occur on... More

This place was awesome, place is full of character inside and out if your a petrol head like me. The 3 of us had the place to ourselves with Brad & Toni the owners leaving us to our own devices without taking any cc details or otherwise. Very trusting folk and we appreciated the fully stocked fridge too etc. And... More

We had the best scones here (ok, I haven't tried any others!). The scones, jam and cream were fantastic, the service was prompt, and the outdoor seating and great.

Polite, helpful and prompt service. A lovely shaded spot to sit on the verandah. We had 2 delicious vegetarian meals but there are lots of options on the menu. Quirky furniture made for a fun talking point. Passing through for lunch on a quiet Friday our meal was fresh and hot. Perfect!

We stopped ( as we have several times previously) to have a coffee and a bite to eat. The food was delivered but no sign of the coffee 20 minutes or so later. After watching several orders being delivered to customers who had ordered after us, we enquired as to the whereabouts if our coffee and were not so politely... More

45 minutes plus wait to get your food. I was told it was busy but it was obvious that was just the canned response as there were hardly any people there. Expect to pay $13 for Heinz baked beans on toast. Servings are not large. Rooms are OK though, if a little noisy.

We stopped in passing through looking for a quick bite. We ordered 4 toasted sandwiches two without cheese cause some of the family are lactose intolerant. Got 5 mins down the road and guess what all 4 had cheese. If you can't get a simple order like that right what hope do you have. Coffee was burnt and terrible too

Stayed at the Royal for 2 nights, got to know the staff found them to be friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was relaxing the grounds are worth stopping for a look even if you don't spend the night. Coffee is yummy. Kellie
