Location very special but ....

Visited twice during our stay in the area. Afternoon tea stop OK but the apple pie far cry from write up on menu! Made more so as sighted boxes of sliced apples rather than stated ones from the orchard! Also spray cream rather than real. Following day breakfast visit. Food OK but service unspeaking... read more

Breakfast was superb on our first morning in the Blue Mountains Scrambled eggs on wonderful gluten free toast We also had lunch here and the toasted sandwiches (mix of gluten free and normal) were fab - would recommend the chicken, cheese and avocado Read the other reviews about service and old furniture but you are out in the middle of... There's nothing which elevates the food and service here above the acceptable, except the authenticity of it. What is wonderful about this place is the overall experience. The drive to the Tea Rooms is a real adventure as one descends through the wet semi tropical rainforest into the dryer grazing lands of the valley below, replete with the view to... More

We went and had scones, soup and sausage rolls and pies and it was all great, with good coffee. Service was friendly and country style didn't get any of the issues others had and it was a busy Sunday lunch.

The tea house has been recommended to me twice but i have no idea whats great about it. The outdoor furniture have been very old and not too clean. The service has been slow and the prices high for the overall delivery. The cake has been ok. Clearly the view is nice and there are no other places else to... More

Overpriced food and inefficient, rude wait staff. I can't believe I drove 3 hours and dropped $150 at this establishment. I will not be gracing this place with my presence again so long as I draw breath. Not only were front of hose staff rude, the back of house staff were worse. If you are going to be so arrogant... The servings were big and it had prices to match. I thought it was rather expensive pie & salad for $17 and more than $4 for tea or coffee. However the ambience made up for it. We sat in the gardens and looked up to the valley. There were horses and sheep nearby and it was very peaceful. It cannot... More

It seems inevitable that visitors to the Megalong Valley will do two things during their stay - ride a horse and visit the Tea Rooms. Set amongst tall eucalypts and attracting a crowd of largely older folks and country regulars (flanked by their doted on, yet obedient dogs), the Tea Rooms offer something that cannot be matched by a lot... For a nice afternoon trip, go to the tea rooms for a nice light meal. The surroundings are idyllic.
