The services was great, waitresses were very attentive and friendly. However, the size of the food are too small for this price. I have read some of the others’ comments and ordered entrée, main and desserts separately rather than the tasting menu. And still, the portions were very small. I have ordered all their 4 main courses - duck, barramundi,... More

White linen, elegant in style, pleasant, skilled, inconspicuous staff. Peaceful ambiance. Food is expensive but high quality - all four of our party rated it a very pleasant evening and excellent meal.

Unless you have a very small appetite and don't mind paying $100 per person for six dishes that could all be served on one plate (cause they are so small)!! My husband and I were very excited to dine here based on the menu. We were very disappointed with the serving size (ended up getting pizza afterwards)! Having said that,... More

We went to Ashcrofts for the degustation dinner last Saturday night, 6 courses with matching wines. Although the food was exceptionally tasty, the portions were tiny, the restaurant ran out of wine of the matching wines, and in amongst the courses there was no red meat, only duck matched with a pinot. For the price, $150 pp,I expected better, a... More

This is not a cheap experience but the food is very good and beautifully presented and the staff are very knowledgeable. However prices are high by comparison and located amongst the "greasy spoon" cafés. Special occasion place!

First of all, I'm not a man of praising, criticism is more close to me, but what I experienced in Ashcrofts restaurant was literally heaven from gastronomic perspective. Blackheath itself is a very friendly and pleasant town where you can relax and escape from the bustle. In that embracing environment Ashcrofts restaurant was a perfect choice to spend a fantastic... Really loved our meal. We had a tasting plate with matching wines. The absolute stand outs for us were the Pork Belly and the Kanimbla beef. Possibly being picky, but the only thing we'd question was some of the food/ wine pairings. In many instances, the wine wasn't big enough to stand up to the delicious big flavours of the... More

Our first visit to Ashcrofts on 7th February,2015, left us overwhelmed that we had lived in the Upper Blue Mountains for almost 5 years and not known about this gem. The food was sophisticated, characterised by complex flavours delivered by a wide range and combination of unique ingredients. 5 stars for food and service. After many yeas of national and... More
