We had a private wedding ceremony and decided on our local restaurant, Ashcrofts for our wedding reception. We contacted the restaurant and told them we were planning to marry and would like to have a table for four that evening to celebrate our wedding. On arrival the table was set so elegantly for four, was a private wedding so didn't... More

Warm welcome, friendly staff and super cosy for a cold winters night. Three of us dined at this Restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. My friend Mark is a regular. Attention to detail included a warm bread roll whilst waiting for our Entree. Entree of Octopus was superb. I am not normally an Entree person but this was delicious. Main... More

Had a tremendous meal at Ashcrofts, and Adrian and Csilla have grown in confidence since taking over from the previous owners. The meal started off with an amuse bouche (lightly smoked cauliflower veloute with truffle oil) which was delicious. The mains were excellent, complicated with several components - and the biggest surprise of all, the deserts were simply scrumptious and... More

Fantastic menu. The steak is out of this world melt in your mouth. Desserts are scrummy too. Great service which made for a very pleasant evening - thank you

This is an expensive menu and wine list with very few choices for vegetarians. Cuisine average. Portions were small. A disappointing experience.

My husband and I visited Ashcrofts in late June whilst on holiday from interstate. The ambience was elegant, warm and cosy – so inviting on a cold day. The chef’s wife welcomed us and explained the menu and wine selection in detail. We started our meal with handmade rolls with a balsamic reduction which had the most beautiful flavours. For... More

Elegant dining. We chose from a set menu. Delicous meals with quality produce and presentation. Great wine list. The service was professional and welcoming.

A small but interesting menu leaning towards minimalist but labour-intensive dishes. The kitchen aims high but can slip up. The pork belly, perfectly textured, was barely warm. The beer-battered onion ring atop the Wagyu eye fillet, unnecessary anyway, tasted of nothing but cooking oil letting down an otherwise very good dish. The green pea mousse and confit duck pithiver were... More

Had a wonderful evening recently at Ashcrofts. We went with the kids - the staff couldn't have been nicer to them. Between us, we had a range of entree, main and dessert dishes and all were beautifully put together with lovely flavours, with two or three dishes being absolute standouts that we were still talking about days later. My 9yo... More
