My wife and I recently journeyed from the Far South Coast of NSW to Sydney. Our fist night was spent in Canberra and we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant at Civic. It was a great meal and we were really impressed until the following night when we Stayed at St Mounts Guesthouse at Blackheath. I am... More

From the moment we sat down we were greeted and looked after. Nice generous glass of wine to start which was devine. We chose the aranchini for entree and it was delicious. 4 big arancini balls with a lovely tasty sauce, great entree size. I ordered the surf n turf and hubby ordered the angus eye fillet. Cooked exactly as... More

This is the place to go if you are staying in Blackheath and need dinner. Big generous hearty meals at a reasonable price backed up by attentive and well meaning service. They are not trying to be Surry Hill sur le mount but do deliver a tasty dinner that fills the gaps. The rare eye fillet melted in the mouth... More

As locals, my wife and I have been to this restaurant numerous times over the years, however we hadn't been in the past 2 years. On Saturday night after Christmas, we decided to have a family dinner here to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children under 5. Upon entering the restaurant,... Staying in Blackheath and had dinner at St Mounts restaurant. When we arrived we remembered we had been to the restaurant a few years ago. As it was a Tuesday it was quiet so we could enjoy the pleasant relaxing music whilst being served by a excellent waiter who was from Chile. As I had visited Chile we had a... More

Visited in October 2014 and would highly recommend to anyone. Food was great and the fire place gave it a lovely atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient with locals greeted by name. THe menu has a good selection of seasonal and local produce and prices are reasonable. Wine list is good - again prices are reasonable. In all a... More

We had tried to get into a couple of other restaurants but had left our booking too late (not realising where we were staying rather unhelpfully closed their restaurant for dinner). By default we ended up at St Mounts. The food was surprisingly good although the service was a little challenged as it seems everyone - about 60 guests -... More
