Awesome food and service. Can't recommend it enough

We love this restaurant. We have been a few times but have finally got around to reviewing it. The waitress is so friendly and professional and the tapas on offer was on par with some of the best places we have been to in Sydney. And the sangria? Yummo! I don't know if the previous reviewer... read more

Last Sunday we dropped into Blackheath and discovered a lovely tapas restaurant. The food was superbly prepared, fresh, flavoursome and well presented. We had the "special", which had four shared dishes with freshly baked bread (a treat) and a glass of house white or beer. Not expensive and delivered in a timely fashion. We were so impressed we tried two... More

Some excellent dishes, and great service. The patatas bravas and the eggplant were both fabulous and the pork eaters really enjoyed the pork belly. My Dad described the salt and pepper squid as the best he's had. And the pecan pie was excellent. And well matched with the Piggs Peake Suckling Pig Shiraz (a real treat to find such a... More

We stayed at the Hydro for a few nights but decided to save our dollars and eat at this small restaurant. They served mostly tapas style food that you could mix and match small servings and sample a wide variety of dishes. A good choice of wine and beer also available. The food was lovingly prepared and very tasty indeed.... More

This really did happen beyond my disbelief. Walked in. Place was empty. Was asked to make a booking anyway. Came back at allocated time with my 2 young kids and there was only 1 other table of customer. My daughter was tired and crying, having one of those moments. Then it all started with: the hostess came over in her... More

After a very successful four year run, the original Escarpment team, chef Barry O'Sullivan and restaurateur David Waters, sold out in late 2013. And to be honest, the first few visits back under the new owners were a little disappointing. It never quite worked without Barry in the kitchen. So, we are happy to report that the latest reincarnation of... More

This restaurant is a sleeper. I have tried to visit on numerous occasions, but always found it closed. I finally tried it last week and where do I begin? The service from our hostess was most professional and discreet. Food service times were excellent. A small wine list, but enought to choose a good wine and feel content. (Please note... More

First timers, definitely returning. We chose the tapas for two special, $50 with wine. Faultless food and presentation. Then lured into a honey, white chocolate and rhubarb panacotta dessert with coffee. Too good!!

What an amazing find, nestled in the lovely town of Blackheath, this restaurant delivered beyond expectation. I was curious to see a tapas restaurant in this location and decided to give it a whirl after seeing good reviews. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. There is a great range of tapas from the traditional "patatas bravas" through to "salmon... More

Escarpment is a great little restaurant for Blackheath. Casual and relaxed but with fresh, tasty food and a nice selection of Tapas dishes to choose from with main courses available as well. Friendly and efficient service. We'll be back soon.
