We tried this restaurant on Saturday evening. Fortunately we arrived early, as we had no reservation and half of the tables were reserved, and they were turning others away a few minutes later. We opted for the fresh individual miniature bread loaf piping hot from the oven, with olive oil, the olives plate and then one of the half dozen... More

After a very good review in the Good Food Guide we expected escarpment to provide a very good meal. While it wasn't a disaster it also wasn't very amazing. The food (we ordered tapas) was rather on the bland side. Best dish was Patatas Bravas.

We booked a romantic weekend away in Blackheath for our wedding anniversary. We had planned to dine at one of the other popular restaurants in town however, we found them closed and had to look elsewhere. I came across Escarpment and, after reading some other good reviews, made our dinner booking for Saturday night. VERY pleased that we did as... More

We thought we were just dropping in to a café for a quick bite to eat on our way back to the coast. What we ended up doing was having a delicious meal in a friendly, relaxed restaurant where we felt it was worth the time it took to stop and smell the tapas. Lovely.

I was coming through Blackheath after a weekend away with my wife and we noticed a restaurant with a Tapas style menu while strolling past. We decided to have some lunch and the whole experience was an absolute delight. We asked the host, Lynne, a few questions and as it turns out they are a husband and wife team who... More

My Fiancé and I stumbled across this restaurant/cafe in blackheath on out way through to visit friend in Bathurst. The lady who served us was the owner and told us that they (her husband is the chef) recently took over the restaurant and have really changed things up. Unfortunately we didn't go before so we can't compare but we can... More

Escarpment has gone through a change of ownership and change of menu. We thought we should try the restaurant with the new Owners'. I duly phoned to secure a booking only to be a little miffed by whom I assumed was one of the new Owners' and her attitude that the menu had changed to this tapas style of cafe... More

It is not often that fine dining around Sydney can be combined with BYO with reasonable corkage ($4 pp) however Escarpment is such a place. All the other usual fine dining qualities were there; elegant, fresh space with linen tablecloths, excellent service and very tasty, attractively presented food. We found our entrees of asparagus soup for me and pastry tartlet... More

Located on the Great Western Highway Escarpment is a delicious treat in dinning. Well priced and cleverly crafted food make this restaurant a must visit when in Blackheath. It is also BYO

Went to the Escarpment for the first time on Father's day. Had a two course meal for $33 which was great value as the food was excellent. Staff were really friendly and looked after us with quick and efficient service. Would highly recommend.
