Have eaten here twice, and I will say that it was the most delicious meal, and the service was just fantastic. Thank you.

Possible the best garden in a Sussex pub. Lovely place to drink and dine, great wine selection and well kept ales. The local Upperton fizz is wonderful. With an excellent menu and attentive service, we will be back.

Ou car broke down at Sunday lunchtime, fortunately for us right outside this lovely pub. Despite being incredibly busy the friendly staff managed to make a table available for us and our two dogs. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, locally sourced and quality ingredients and the staff were attentive and friendly towards us and the dogs. When one of... More

We had a late Saturday lunch at The Horse Guards after a 9 mile hike through the Sussex countryside and really enjoyed it. The pub is quirky and tiny, the staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic and the food is really good. What I particularly liked was the way that although a few menu items had run out, each had... We visited for Sunday lunch - limited menu but something for all of our party of 8. Salt cod fritters were tasty, followed by pork shoulder which was very tender. Husband had the game terrine which he deemed delicious followed by lamb shoulder. Decent Sauvignon too. Friendly pleasant staff. A lovely quirky pub. Not a fan of the two sitting... More

A very vibrant place full of local charm, so this warrants a first class review in itself with the added benefit if attentive staff However the food was average , nothing to really rave about especially the charcuterie board which had the most disappointing saucisson I have ever tasted. But all in all a very pleasing afternoon which was enjoyed... More

We have just returned from a most enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Horseguards Inn. It was a 2.30pm booking and the place was buzzing. The service was efficient and really pleasant - we were served by a charming young waiter. The food arrived swiftly, was hot and most importantly delicious. The portions were good and the price reasonable. The atmosphere... More

We had a brilliant three course meal on a Sunday evening! All four of us said we would go back, helpful staff and a good selection of locally sourced food! Really would recommend! Wish we had gone sooner!

Ate here on a Sunday eve. The pub / restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was pleasant, yet vibrant too. Friendly staff in a beautiful pub and setting. The menu is small but the concept of fresh local or home grown produce, cooked to order as clear. A great gastronomic pub as it should be. We shared a starter and... More
