Great decor but food average

Great setting and a lot of attention to decor so a nice place to visit. Unfortunately, the food and overall experience not great. I visited this evening for a girly catch-up with my friend, had a broccoli, alexander and cashew nut soup as a starter and wild bass, honey aubergine and cous cous for a main, both were absolutely delicious and reasonable value for money. My friend had a chorizo/pork spread starter and then a gnocchi and veal ragu main, again I got... More

We came here on a friend's recommendation after spending the afternoon walking around Petworth Park. This is a real gem hidden from the main road - but signposted. There are several small rooms each with a fire or wood burner and lots of quirky stylish features. We had a lovely view over the beautiful church opposite. The food is fantastic;... More

The pubs is massively atmospheric, boho meets character country pub. The food was outstanding and the staff both cool and attentive. Everything about it was wonderful and both my boys and I will be back again.

A gem of find. Set back off the road at Tillington, The Horse Guards is a magical place.. Enter into warmth and comfort with a choice of very good beers and wines. The menu will not fail to satisfy any taste. Try the selection of breads with dips as a taster. The menu is a joy.. The ambience is simply... More

This pub is run with charm, flair and talent. The menu is based on locally sourced ingredients: fish from Brighton and Newhaven; local meat and the pub's own garden. Cleverly, the choice is restricted to five or six starters, main courses and desserts, which means that food is fresh and high quality. On the night we went, there were plenty... More

Unfortunately, our lunch was completely spoiled by being sat in the middle room between the bar and the kitchen. On one side we had the noise of bottles being thrown into a bottle bin and on the other side just about every kitchen noise imaginable. At times it was difficult to be heard. The food was good, the place was... More

Have eaten here twice, and I will say that it was the most delicious meal, and the service was just fantastic. Thank you.

Possible the best garden in a Sussex pub. Lovely place to drink and dine, great wine selection and well kept ales. The local Upperton fizz is wonderful. With an excellent menu and attentive service, we will be back.

Ou car broke down at Sunday lunchtime, fortunately for us right outside this lovely pub. Despite being incredibly busy the friendly staff managed to make a table available for us and our two dogs. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, locally sourced and quality ingredients and the staff were attentive and friendly towards us and the dogs. When one of... More
