Phoned ahead blind, running tight ahead of a wedding at the church next door. Lady on the phone really helpful, food landed on an outside table just as we walked in. Mix of dishes from BLT to cheese to fish stew - all excellent. Courtyard garden inspired design. Large garden very welcoming. Wish we had booked to stay. Next time.

We stayed at the Horse guards inn last week with my parents, and i have to say this place is spectacular. We could not find fault with it,The accommodation is great, the wines and ales superb, and the food simply wonderful. From the sirloin steaks to the lobster and the Greek fishermens stew,it was all cooked to perfection.Every ingredient is freshly locally sauced, and the... Given the reviews on this site, last week with three friends I went to The Horse Guards at Tillington for lunch. My friends are ‘foody’ types so I hoped for a good lunch. The ambiance is quirky but ok. My main gripe was the portion sizes, very mean to say the least; also the quality of the food served. The... More

We visited The Horse Guards Inn whilst out for a family cycle as a half way pit stop. The drinks and nibbles we had were perfectly fine. There are several bed type items in the gardens that includes a hammock which were being enthusiastically - a good idea for the summer sunshine used by the children. On another visit for... More

I have one big problem with The Horse Guards… it's too far away from where I live, which meant I was designated driver for the evening. Myself and two friends all ordered the same - sea bass fillets, on top of gnocchi and a sea food broth. A handful of clams and sea kale also accompanied. What a stunning dish,... More

They had a selection of real ales (3) and they were well kept. However, they cost more than you would normally pay at just over £4 a pint. We intended to eat but found the menu choices limited and on the expensive side. It has a pretty but quirky garden but I know some people like that kind of thing.... More

This is the second time I've been to the Horse Guards Inn. It's hard to find anything wrong. The Bloody Mary was one of the best ever. The pickled Swedish sardines were delicious. The bouillabaisse soup (had to spell check that) was excellent. The chocolate truffle cake super rich and moist. Impeccable service too. Great stuff.

Anyone who lives in the vicinity of the Horse Guards obviously did something very good in a former life. The menu is always creative and extremely well executed. On a fine summers day, the garden is enchanting. A banker.

My son and daughter in law booked a table for this pub yesterday 29th June, after much research to find a pub with really good food which had won awards in previous years. , full of lovely bits and pieces What an amazing pub with a wonderful child friendly garden with an assortment of lovely chickens all with their names...
