The hollist arms is a beautiful old pub set in the heart of the village of Lodsworth. It is full of elegant charm and character with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and artefacts which enhance it's uniqueness. The Hollist has built a reputation for superb home cooked gastronomical delights by Serge and Sally, the chefs and owners, who have created a menu that excites and comforts. Serge's Mediterranean background, combined with his classic French training and years of gastronomical experience in France and England show in the quality of the food served. His philosophy is simple however. He prides himself on producing unpretentious food, generously portioned, sensibly priced and full of flavours. The Hollist has been nominated as one of the 25 best pubs in Sussex, with a special mention for outstanding roasts on Sundays (Sussex Life July 2013).The hollist also boasts an enviable wine list with wines sourced exclusively from small, independent vineyards; plus three fantastic, well kept real ales, one of which is a regularly changing guest ale. We look forward to meeting you.

Not sure where to start. The ambivalent service meant long waits before a sign that these people wanted to do business with me. The saving grace was a part time, young, local waitress who was eager to please, but swimming against the tide. Low grade Pork with no crackling is not what one expects at the only pub in a... More

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Hollist Arms. We had a starter of Fish Soup and Rilletes both really well made and big portions, and loaded with garlic! Main courses were roast beef and roast pork ( though this was shoulder not belly as described), served with a vegetable gratin and roast potatoes, and nice homemade gravy. For... More

We really like the relaxed atmosphere of this pub, the staff are all young and friendly (and even recognised our car from the previous visit!) . On this occasion we were not able to enjoy the pretty garden, however it was very cosy with the log fires inside. We also thoroughly enjoyed the dog visitors, they seem very welcome –... More

Our four families met for a lunchtime get together. We were looked after in a relaxed and fun manner, with the waiting staff giving good natured menu advice, and accepting our requests and changes of mind with apparent ease. We all thoroughly enjoyed our courses, with the sweetbread starter, lamb main and brownie pudding being standouts. The beer, I am... More

We appreciated the down to earth friendly service in this village pub. The menu offers both Sunday roast and other options with a good wine list. There is a bar and open fire and the Hollist has kept a traditional atmosphere whilst offering good food and decor.

Every time we go there the food is fantastic! Flavours are amazing, the steak is really really good and I think they menu works quite well. Oh and the deserts are an absolute treat! (possibly the best deserts around the area- really really worth ordering, even if you are quite full after a generous main course..... Staff are friendly, it... More

I love a Sunday roast and this has got to be in my top 3 of roasts! I will add that The Chequers in Bath do an award winning Sunday roast but this little pub in the country tops it! The flavours from every individual element on the plate came together beautifully and the chef knows how to cook meat!... More

Lovely traditional pub in very pretty village. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating and the service was excellent throughout. Some very nice local ales (try the Langhams) and decent wine selection. Sunday lunch (beef) was cooked to perfection and good trimmings. Fish & chips and veggie dishes got thumbs up as well. All in all one of the very... More
