The hollist arms is a beautiful old pub set in the heart of the village of Lodsworth. It is full of elegant charm and character with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and artefacts which enhance it's uniqueness. The Hollist has built a reputation for superb home cooked gastronomical delights by Serge and Sally, the chefs and owners, who have created a menu that excites and comforts. Serge's Mediterranean background, combined with his classic French training and years of gastronomical experience in France and England show in the quality of the food served. His philosophy is simple however. He prides himself on producing unpretentious food, generously portioned, sensibly priced and full of flavours. The Hollist has been nominated as one of the 25 best pubs in Sussex, with a special mention for outstanding roasts on Sundays (Sussex Life July 2013).The hollist also boasts an enviable wine list with wines sourced exclusively from small, independent vineyards; plus three fantastic, well kept real ales, one of which is a regularly changing guest ale. We look forward to meeting you.

Delicious Food

Welcoming & friendly family-run service and delicious food, reasonably priced. Probably the cheapest pub for food in at least a 5 mile radius but ever so tasty. We will return! We had a charming Sunday lunch in this rustic, homely country inn. Browsing previous reviews, I can say that this gem has settled down very nicely under new owners Andy who runs front of house and Patsy who rules in the kitchen. In many ways, this was genuinely like eating at home where you can ensure that the freshly prepared... More

This is our second attempt at Sunday Lunch at the Hollist. The owners are charming, having given up a day job to run the pub. Our first booking was lost - confusion due to telephone numbers apparently - but the lunch was good so we tried again this Sunday. It was a family birthday celebration and I phoned to ask... More

We went for Sunday lunch. Roasts were an option but not a lot else was interesting . Our meal was ok. The house red was awful. However the pub/ restaurant was busy with mainly family parties. We will not be going back unless they give the place a good clean & step up the quality.

Great food- we all had delicious meals and especially liked the Roasted Tomato and Onion soup and Sea Bass main. One of our group is vegan and the chef prepared a delicious roasted aubergine and spicy couscous main especially for him (not on the menu). The owners were very friendly and Andrew even insisted on dropping us back at our... More

This pub is well worth visiting. My brother and I went to watch the Rugby World Cup and the landlord has set up a room, which accommodated about 30 people. We received excellent service and the food was delicious. There is outdoor seating and a cozy bar area. Looking forward to returning.

Had not been to The Hollist for some months. We (4) had really great meals and excellent service. I had the Salmon & Prawn starter followed by the absolute melt in the mouth liver & bacon with an amazing Treacle tart with clotted cream. One of the best pub meals for many a day and all extremely well priced. Can`t... More

We had been meaning o go here for a long time but finally made it last month. We found out new owners have breathed life into the venue and whilst we only had a simple sandwich on this visit the menu was wide enough to suit many palates.

Am so glad the Hollist is back in business, I last visited when it was closed! We had a simple supper, home cooked food and a relaxed drink. I can see that the new owners are finding their feet and it will take a little time to sort service. But overall a very enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere, service friendly and... More

Waited at bar to be served for ten minutes there were no customers. Couldn't find a single member of staff. Pathetic to be honest.
