The hollist arms is a beautiful old pub set in the heart of the village of Lodsworth. It is full of elegant charm and character with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and artefacts which enhance it's uniqueness. The Hollist has built a reputation for superb home cooked gastronomical delights by Serge and Sally, the chefs and owners, who have created a menu that excites and comforts. Serge's Mediterranean background, combined with his classic French training and years of gastronomical experience in France and England show in the quality of the food served. His philosophy is simple however. He prides himself on producing unpretentious food, generously portioned, sensibly priced and full of flavours. The Hollist has been nominated as one of the 25 best pubs in Sussex, with a special mention for outstanding roasts on Sundays (Sussex Life July 2013).The hollist also boasts an enviable wine list with wines sourced exclusively from small, independent vineyards; plus three fantastic, well kept real ales, one of which is a regularly changing guest ale. We look forward to meeting you.

New Owners and New Menu

We had been meaning o go here for a long time but finally made it last month. We found out new owners have breathed life into the venue and whilst we only had a simple sandwich on this visit the menu was wide enough to suit many palates.

Am so glad the Hollist is back in business, I last visited when it was closed! We had a simple supper, home cooked food and a relaxed drink. I can see that the new owners are finding their feet and it will take a little time to sort service. But overall a very enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere, service friendly and... More

Waited at bar to be served for ten minutes there were no customers. Couldn't find a single member of staff. Pathetic to be honest.

The Hollist Arms, next to the Village shop (with a car park), is well-worth searching out. We were joining friends for Sunday lunch and it was a good choice; the food is EXCELLENT. The decor is light and modern, but still has the atmosphere of a friendly local pub. The friendly staff and owner Andrew and chef Patsy (she is... More

We wanted to stay local for lunch when we had a dear friend over to visit and a place that was dog friendly. We decided on the Hollist Arms. We wern't disappointed the staff were charming and polite the choice of ale very good. We were shown to our table and given well enough time to make our choices. The... More

I took some friends out to have lunch at this very pretty Sussex pub. I had been telling them what wonderful food they serve and how friendly the new landlord is so I was hoping that it lived up to expectations! I need not have worried as everything far exceeded their hopes and we had what one friend of mine... More

Just back from an idyllic Sunday afternoon with friends at this wonderful pub in a beautiful village location. The new management have done a great job in saving this village pub for the locals and the rest of us lucky enough to hear about it. The Sunday roast was exceptional and the beef so delicious. Thanks to Andrew and Patsy... More

If you are looking for a traditional country pub with excellent food in a beautiful village setting, then this is it. Real ales (including two from the Langhams brewery in the village), a menu to suit all tastes at very reasonable prices - we had one dish from the specials board - Chicken and Ham Pie and the Cod Loin... Having just moved down to West Sussex from London, we have been on the hunt for a decent foody pub, local Ales & a decent wine list as an added bonus. We were so looking forward to going this delightful little pub in the middle of the stunning South Downs, in fact we had been highly recommended it. However this... More

First time back to this pub for a year. Reason: Had been informed that the lease had changed. Looks a little cleaner than last time we visited and the old car and rubbish from the front had been removed. Still not making the most of the village setting though ... Toilets were a disgrace. Located outside .To be fair -... More
