The hollist arms is a beautiful old pub set in the heart of the village of Lodsworth. It is full of elegant charm and character with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and artefacts which enhance it's uniqueness. The Hollist has built a reputation for superb home cooked gastronomical delights by Serge and Sally, the chefs and owners, who have created a menu that excites and comforts. Serge's Mediterranean background, combined with his classic French training and years of gastronomical experience in France and England show in the quality of the food served. His philosophy is simple however. He prides himself on producing unpretentious food, generously portioned, sensibly priced and full of flavours. The Hollist has been nominated as one of the 25 best pubs in Sussex, with a special mention for outstanding roasts on Sundays (Sussex Life July 2013).The hollist also boasts an enviable wine list with wines sourced exclusively from small, independent vineyards; plus three fantastic, well kept real ales, one of which is a regularly changing guest ale. We look forward to meeting you.

We arranged to meet 2 friends forSunday lunch and arrived on the dot of 12 noon to find the front door locked! - we understood that it had been refurbished recently but, on going round the back , found that the management had simply not unlocked the front door and the few inside had obviously done as we had. This... More

We reviewed this Pub under the old management and returned to find that it had been smartened up without in any way spoiling its character." Shabby chique" can be pretentious but this was just right. Staff very anxious to get it right. Beer excellent and my scallops with black pudding and onion mash excellent. Wife's tuna good but perhaps a... More

Their website suggests that this country pub is closed for refurbishment, but it is open and serving excellent beer and good food. We diverted from our walk along the Serpent Trail to enjoy a very nice pub lunch. It has lots of tables in the garden behind, where children can be happy, and is right next door to the Lodsworth... This pub is now run by Patsy and Andrew who live in the village itself. They have turned it round in a matter of days to a warm and welcoming pub with the locals flocking back. My wife and I had an amazing Sunday lunch, the pub's first! with a group of friends and it was very, very good and... More

The Hollist Arms is under new ownership and we were fortunate enough to secure a table on what was a very busy Sunday for the new landlord and his team. We received a warm welcome at the bar which was bustling with excited locals who had been without their village pub for 6 weeks. The decor is calming and inviting... More

We have often gone to this pub for drinks and this time we went with friends for an evening meal. What lovely main meals we all had and a good selection of desserts to choose from. Definately we will be going back there not just for drinks but also when we want a good meal in very pleasant surrounding

Not sure where to start. The ambivalent service meant long waits before a sign that these people wanted to do business with me. The saving grace was a part time, young, local waitress who was eager to please, but swimming against the tide. Low grade Pork with no crackling is not what one expects at the only pub in a... More

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Hollist Arms. We had a starter of Fish Soup and Rilletes both really well made and big portions, and loaded with garlic! Main courses were roast beef and roast pork ( though this was shoulder not belly as described), served with a vegetable gratin and roast potatoes, and nice homemade gravy. For... More

We really like the relaxed atmosphere of this pub, the staff are all young and friendly (and even recognised our car from the previous visit!) . On this occasion we were not able to enjoy the pretty garden, however it was very cosy with the log fires inside. We also thoroughly enjoyed the dog visitors, they seem very welcome –... More
