Our menu bursts with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Fish, game and traditional English and Mediterranean dishes. There is always something to excite the appetite A simple but elegant decor includes fabulous open fires, with dining offered in a choice of intimate nooks. In good weather alfresco dining on our pretty terrace or in the sheltered garden is idyllic. Small group bookings are easily accommodated in one of several private dining rooms. A connoisseur's wine list complements the menu, including local sparkling wines. Many are served by the glass to help you discover a favourite! A fine selection of Sussex ales is also available.

Just a quick snack

Popped in with friends for a quick bite on a Friday evening. If you go between 6 and 7 during the week they have a choice of 6 main courses for only £9.99, really good value. On Thursday they do a pie (home made) and a pint for £10.99. The food was excellent, wine reasonably priced for Sauvignon Blanc at... More

We popped in for dinner mid December and were impressed by a warm welcome from attentive bar staff. This is a cosy pub serving the local Langhams beer that was very enjoyable. We had a starter main and pud that we shared. My Kidney starter was very flavoursome in a reduced red wine ju and the main of pork belly... More

We first visited the Halfway Bridge about six months ago and were so impressed that, despite being twelve miles from home, we have returned every three or fours weeks. We have taken friends and family and are normally a group of four or five people. Between us all I don't think we've had a meal that wasn't excellent! There is... More

Met an old work colleague for lunch today and whilst neither of us were particularly hungry, we opted for an open sandwich and a ciabatta. The salmon on the open sandwich was enough for 3 and with side order of fries was really more than enough! The ciabatta was also good and as always the service was exemplary

We decided to go for lunch after hearing good things about the halfway bridge. Upon entering we were seated straight away, while the bar manager went to get a child's seat for my daughter. We were served our drinks then had our order taken. While waiting for food we were given complimentary bread and olives, the bread being baked in... More

Good menu, lovely atmosphere with wooden beamed ceiling ,friendly staff and good value for money. All food cooked to order so a small waiting time for food to arrive but well worth the wait. The restaurant is on a slight bend in the road and lays back,has... The food is prepared with care using seasonal local produce and presentation is excellent. Beware the portion sizes however as they really undo a hard days walking!

We stopped in here last night on our way home from a visit to West Sussex. We didn't have a reservation but were 'fitted in', although most of the other tables were empty anyway. The menu was slightly on the expensive side for pub food and only one vegetarian choice for my husband but we thought we'd give it a... More
