Cosy pub with looooong wait for food

The pub is lovely with open fires, real ales and good wine list. The food is ok, nothing to shout home about for the price. The biggest issue is the wait time; we waited for over an hour for our food and the restaurant was not that busy. I ordered another drink while we waited for food and even... read more

Meal a little above average for a "pub meal", good atmosphere, greeted and seated but then ignored for some 20 mins, thank goodness for our company

We eat here perhaps once a month and have never had any complaints with either the food or service. We most recently ate here on a Friday evening and the food came out promptly despite being busy ,piping hot and was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch too.

Good location, atmosphere, ambience and service. We have eaten there before. And whilst on this occasion my sons burgers went down well sadly my fish pie wasn't as pleasant, it was pretty salty (yes I know it's fish) and altogether not particularly flavoursome, nor the tartar sauce to be honest. Strangely, I had to visit the gents quite soon after... More

Lovely pub, decent parking. Good for families and couples. Good selection of drinks, poor selection of veggie food. Nice food, nothing spectacular but reasonable for the money. The setting is the selling point. The staff are lovely too.

We used to visit a few times a week and loved the place. During 2015 it's steadily gone downhill. We went a couple of weeks ago for Sunday lunch and thought we'd give it another go. I wish we hadn't. The place wasn't busy, maybe 6-7 tables in use, we only ordered a roast and a burger. 1 hour later... More

A huge fan of this restaurant for its food and ambience. I have been a regular here since it was the Dolphin and has been re-branded back to being The Sergison. I had a friend visiting from afar so thought it would be a great place to get a good Sunday roast. I didn't book in advance but was happy... More
