This was one of the worst lunches I have ever eaten. The lettuce in my salad was either limp or going brown and should of been thrown away - it was inedible. My husbands sandwich consisted of two chunks of bread with a crust resembling something that had been warmed up to give it some life. Between them was one... More

Thank you for your review. I can now see you were not happy with your food. It's a shame you did not bring this to the attention of my Assistant Manager Jaime before you finished the meal as we would of either offered an alternative or given you a refund. At no point did you attempt to do this. I... More

As a local who lives in Staplefield village, I have seen a dramatic improvement to the quality of food and service at The Victory since Janet and Jane took over the pub. Janet and Jane have turned a failing business into a "must go to" pub. The food is of the highest quality, freshly delivered each day and chef Jane... More

Popped in this pub for a few drinks, the beer is good and well kept, I can't say much about the food as I only had a bowl of chips. My friend however had fish and chips, he said that it was very nice.. The pub itself is quaint, but has a underlying odd smell to it. The toilets should... More

We have eaten here a few times in the past and it has been ok nothing special, Went to eat before a show close by. Superb service, young man behind the bar took our food order, was knowledgeable about the Cider on offer whereas some barmen have no clue what they are serving up. Helped my husband as he couldn't... My husband and I went for lunch here after visiting Nyemans gardens a little way up the road and we were very pleased to have found this little gem. The pub looks small from the front but when inside there are more tables than expected and the grassed rear garden is nice and quiet with a few well spaced tables.... More

Very friendly staff behind the bar. We only had a couple of drinks but they offered a good amount of quality beers and ciders. Very clean and well presented pub with front and rear gardens to sit out in would definitely return next time in village

Called here for lunch last week. Food was very good, but what made the experience memorable was the cheerful friendly welcome from all the staff who created a delightful atmosphere.

Just visited this pub for the first time and the food was excellent. My wife had pie of the day and I had the belly pork both of which were very tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We would definitely go back again.

Have eaten here a couple of times and it has been very good but today? Who can muck up ham eggs and chips? Tasteless ham (one slice!), solid eggs but passable chips. Maybe a small salad would improve the presentation. The fish curry looked good but a tasteless goo held together with corn flour and dry rice!! Plus £4 for... More

Thank you for your review. We always aim to exceed our customers expectations. We are sorry you had a bad experience with us and I will look into your complaints. Our staff generally check back on tables to ensure their food is to our standard. This can't have been done as you would have raised any problems you had at... More

I often eat here as a Friday evening unwinding session with my significant other, there is always excellent food and a good range of drink (aspalls cider on draft). My most recent visits have been with my teenage children. Their usual diet is junk but even they were sold on the quality of food, both had fillet steak and chips... More
