10 of us went to this pub for lunch whle staying at wowo camp site. What a lovely location and despite being pricey we were delighted when our food turned up. Some of our party arrived slightly after us and they ordered seperately, by this time the pub was busy and they had to wait an hour! Anyway we all... More

I took a group of 24 (adults and children) to the Sloop during a camping trip to Wowo. We pre ordered our food for ease. On arrival a couple of us had changed our minds but the pub was happy to accommodate this. The food arrived in good time and the portions were spot on for both kids and adults.... More

Visited here yesterday for drink whilst we were out walking wit friends. We live locally and have visited The Sloop over a number of years. It has always been a bit up and down but yesterday it hit an all time low in terms of customer service. I ordered half a pint of cider - sadly it tasted like vinegar... More

A warm and friendly atmosphere in a busy country pub. The food that my wife and I had the Sunday Roast Beef was plentiful and tender, veg cooked to perfection and plenty of it. The staff were very attentive. Our experience was a very good one and I feel happy to recommend a visit, we will certainly be back and... More

I went for lunch with some work colleagues and sat outside in the sunshine. Everyone who hadn't been before commented on the lovely gardens. Half of us had the baguettes - £8 was a bit pricey but two of us shared one between us which still gave us enough food each for £4. The prawn salads were heaped full of... More

The sloop has good periods and bad periods. The food is never terrible, at worst its just very overpriced so-so pub grub. At it's best, you'll struggle to find better. This time last year it was nothing short of fabulous, with roasts to die for. Some time over the autumn or winter the management changed again and its now back... More

6 of us visited here and the setting is great, but the food is just embarrassing. Small portions, so over priced, unloved and bland. I had a tiny Thai chicken curry (with a poppadom?) with a few sad little vegetables for £13. Other delights included a cheese ploughmans with the smallest salad and nondescript cheese. It's a really sad state... More

£14 for a ploughmans, 5 slivers of cheese, 3 silverskin pickled onions, 4 mini gherkins, a bit of onion marmalade, small salad comprising a quarter of tomato, a half a slice of cucumber, a few leaves and a hot roll. Value for money=total rip off.

We went to the Sloop on Friday 28th June. The food portions were tiny! £13.00 for bang bang chicken, which was 3 tiny pieces of chicken and a small portion of rice!! They also charge £7.00 for a kids chicken nuggets and chips, 4 nuggets and 10 chips. Complete rip off and the staff couldn't care less when we complained.... More

Went into this pub just for a drink just as well - it was half two and a couple came in and wanted to order food the girl behind the bar openly said they have finished serving because the chef has had enough and closed!! Really! Also one of the toilets in the ladies were blocked and someone informed the... More
