Took my wife to the Coach & Horses for our anniversary. Whilst we know the pub well we were simply overwhelmed with the quality of the food and the service. The owners have managed to balance the style, feel and culture of a Sussex country pub with high-end cuisine whilst keeping the prices reasonable. I pre-arranged for a bottle of... More

Beautiful location. Wonderful service. We started our evening off having a drink in the adult only terrace garden out the back, which was lovely. We were part of a large group, I did wonder where we were all going to sit when we entered the restaurant, but once we were all seated, felt like we were the only ones in... More

We arrived at the beginning of the evening service and having eaten here before were looking forward to good food, we were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables. The menu was interesting and we were served quickly and efficiently. To be honest the food didn't hold up to our expectations. It seemed a bit too ordinary. Looking round at... More

My wife & I had dinner one Saturday night in August , having identified The Coach and Horses on Trip Advisor , before visiting the area . The pub service was in full swing when we got there & things looked a bit hectic but once we were seated at our restaurant table all went smoothly . The starter of... More

We were passing through and looking for a pub full of character and great food - we found it! The atmosphere was lovely, staff friendly and efficient and the food was superb. We can highly recommend it.

We found this pub last summer due to a review in the Times of pubs with great food - it does not disappoint. Go on a beautiful day, take a table in the very pretty garden, order a beer and a nice glass of wine and enjoy the view. It is incredibly lovely round there and so peaceful (odd plane... More

Honestly the best pub I've been in in Sussex! We only stayed for a drink, but the bar tenders were so nice and down to earth, what's more it's certainly a well known place as it was full of locals giving the place a lovely atmosphere.

Rural location, charming traditional building, exactly what one anticipates from an Olde English country pub. Gardens front and back, open aspect, well kept seating areas. Restaurant service informal but enthusiastic and caring. Seating suitable for a romantic twosome or more extensive group, great atmosphere. Menu with plenty of variety and interest to ensure it was a cut above - we... More

This pub is in quite a nice quiet location but the food is so expensive. We ordered Camembert with toasted focaccia (£7.50) and fishcakes (£9.50). The food was ok, nothing special, but the portions were way too small, we both felt hungry afterwards. The service wasn't great either, I expected a lot more for the prices they were charging.
