Delightful country pub with excellent food

We met our son and daughter-in-law here for Saturday lunch. The welcome was friendly, particularly from Dougall the pub resident Golden retriever), the fire crackled on a very cold day, and pub was very busy, The menu is imaginative and we all enjoyed a freshly prepared meal. Great food wine and ales. Best pork ever. Lovely and warm. Dogs and people friendly. Would recommend. Wine a bit pricey.

After a lovely walk at Sheffield Park a lunch visit to this excellent village pub. Great atmosphere and packed on this Saturday lunch time. Food excellent. Staff very helpful. Highly recommended and suggest that you book for Saturdays and Sundays. One of the best in the area. Will be back again

We have just returned from a lovely meal at the coach and horses. We will defiantly be returning. The warmth from the fire as you go through the door made me feel like I was at home. The food was incredible. I had the beef cheek and I've never had a meal like it! Melted in the mouth! The staff... More

We visited recently as we were staying close by. It's a lovely pub with a fire and good staff. The food was lovely. We had the beef cheek which was amazing. Perfectly cooked and a decent size portion. The starter was chilli beef which was nice. We had toffee passing Dir desert Which was amazing! Drinks were OK priced, food... More

We have been here a few times and are never dissapointed . We have just had our wedding anniversary lunch here and we will have to go a long way to beat it. We agree with previous comment about the choice it's so hard to choose as you want it all. Different choices of food is so nice rather than... More

I have lived in mid sussex approx. 40 years. For last 20 I have been aware of this restaurant. I may have only been there on 15 occasions during that time, usually weekends and for varying celebrations. From party of 4 with in-laws for birthday celebration, to 9 at a family occasion, to eating out with distant relatives from Melbourne,... More

we have been here several times lately the food is excellent and varied at sensible prices ,when it is difficult to choose what you want from the menu because you like it all you know it must be good.

I recently visited this establishment with my son and found the food very good with a fairly wide choice on the menu. Service was also good, decor was also more than acceptable. Could recommend for lunch or dinner, my only real concern being the parking as their car park fills rapidly and they are, for good reason, very popular. I... More

Visited the Coach and Horses with friends for a meal. Extensive menu with reasonable prices. Quality is excellent - the camembert starter was superb and the pork main course absolutely delicious. Excellent range of beers and wines (although the local sparkling wine is rather pricey by the glass!)
