Rural location, charming traditional building, exactly what one anticipates from an Olde English country pub. Gardens front and back, open aspect, well kept seating areas. Restaurant service informal but enthusiastic and caring. Seating suitable for a romantic twosome or more extensive group, great atmosphere. Menu with plenty of variety and interest to ensure it was a cut above - we... More

This pub is in quite a nice quiet location but the food is so expensive. We ordered Camembert with toasted focaccia (£7.50) and fishcakes (£9.50). The food was ok, nothing special, but the portions were way too small, we both felt hungry afterwards. The service wasn't great either, I expected a lot more for the prices they were charging.

We had a spur of the moment lunch at The Coach and Horses earlier this week. A great place to go to anytime. My husband had good old fish and chips whilst I decided on a light bite of baked camembert with blackcurrant and honeycomb, it was yummy if a little small even for a light bite. However it left... We fancied going for some good pub food and after reading the reviews... It didn't disappoint! We all enjoyed the meal we had with all the ingredients being very fresh, I had the sausages and mash with onion gravy which was very simple but so tasty. The ambiance was nice and staff very well spoken and kind. This is one... More

Spacious outdoors for a sunny day's lunch. Local cider on offer was tasty. On the pricey side but food good and prompt service (but it was midweek - with all that room I bet a weekend is hectic). Desserts were the best for me - sticky toffee was a delight. Dog-friendly and even an adult-only eating terrace. Great - just... More

The food in this pub is excellent, tasty, locally sourced fare. We have eaten there with friends and family, in house and in the garden and it has never disappointed. It is now to us one of the places that we plan to take anyone who comes to visit our part of West Sussex.
