Good value, tasty food

We enjoyed Saturday lunch here. Lunch menu is reasonably priced with a nice selection of dishes to choose from. The main menu also offers a good selection again reasonably priced. The pub caters for groups and families with children.

We had to chose between the Little Chef or this place for food. To be honest, we would have got more for our money at the Little Chef. Our pies were well stocked with meat but unfortunately the veg seemed nuked and not sure how close the mash had ever got to a potato. Considering we had just spent £27... More

Let's face it, this particular restaurant is situated smack bang next door to a Travel Inn, on a racecourse, next to a very busy dual carriageway. Although I have not been let down by other venues under the Vintage Inn banner, we do get rather spoilt having such a fine selection of country pubs on our doorstep, so I wasn't... More

We were 13 in number, most of us ordering something different. This is a challenge for most restaurants but although the lunches took a little time to reach us, they were worth waiting for. A smiling service and as 1 meal came with chips instead of salad as ordered, the salad came quickly with a smile. A good selection of... More

The restaurant/pub was lovely, clean and welcoming. The staff were great. We chose from the light bite menu and the choice was very good - the pear and Stilton salad was really tasty and fresh, as were the breadcrumbed mushrooms. The pork and black pudding sausages were a great combination. House Shiraz was also very nice. Would recommend this for... More

On arrival all staff were friendly and welcoming, however to get our main meal it took 1 hour with no apology for the delay!! Very disappointed. Understand it was not the waitresses fault, but the delay ruined the mood.

Met up with some friends we hadn't seen for a long time. Three of the four ordered fish and chips. What should have been a most enjoyable catch up was completely spoilt by the quality of the fish. Cod should be light, white and flaky .... this fish was rubbery, very grey and stodgy. The excellent waitress was most apologetic... More

5 of us went for a Sunday roast. Decor very nice, table a bit small for 5. Service with a smile but they were so buy it took a long time for our drinks and forgot them once. Meat platter for two very good. Veg tasty and not over cooked. Would visit again as local but wouldn't if it was... More
