Have just visited The Black Horse for a family birthday. Very nice location, older worlde cosy pub. Food excellent as was staff and Kevin Manager made sure all meals ordered in advance as we played skittles. Have been here before and will be back again soon. Certainly worth a visit.

Had a lovely carvery here, staff great. Really made to feel welcome. Nice atmosphere, and really well worth a visit. Couldn't fault the food, given plenty of meat by the chef, who was a friendly fellow. Half the plate was piled up with gorgeous beef. Told to help ourselves to veg of which there was everything you needed plus more.... More

This splendid oak-beamed tavern, providing good food, a fine location down a Sussex country lane and within earshot of the rolling sea would certainly get a four-star rating but for one or two deficiencies, especially lacking a little warmth. Eleven colleagues and I met eleven others from a rival Rotary Club for a skittles match last week and a jolly... More

We went today for a family 40th birthday celebration. We all had the carvery which was well cooked and tasty. The atmosphere was so friendly, as were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend this place enough a lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Cannot wait to go back and taste the rest of the menu.

We ordered steak and mushroom pie, veg and chips, because all the food is freshly prepared it did take a little time, it was well worth the wait , the meal was absolutely fantastic, very welcoming staff... We have had lunch several times at the Black Horse in the last few months - the food and service have been great, and the rejuvenated pub is a credit to its new management. Recommend it to anyone who wants class food, in a great atmosphere, with very friendly and proficient service.

Having taken my family of 4 here on a few occasions (2 being fussy teenagers), we have enjoyed the well prepared, priced, and good tasting food. The well thought out menu covers an eclectic mix catering for all tastes/pallets. The exterior of the pub is very traditional, good looking and in keep with the local area and for dog lovers,...
