PRICEY BUT FINE FOOD

We arrived at six o'clock hoping for a table but were informed they were fully booked however we could if we wished eat in the bar. We were offered a table which we accepted and given menus. We would have to get our own drinks from the bar which was heaving and appeared to be under staffed a long... read more

We by chance came across the cock inn whilst we were stoping at the Belfry, a group of us called here for our evening meal and a few beers. It was excellent in every way, service very friendly, food varied and our selections superb. A definite recommendation by 4 golfers.

Just returned from here, been before and never had any problems. Tonight however was different. When we arrived very pleasant and asked which table we wanted, we chose a nice little alcove. We were seated and ordered our drinks, and also the rustic bread, which on the menu is under the while u wait section, before the starters. I've had... More

Found this great restaurant/pub whilst staying at New Hall hotel. My husband had the soup to start and I had the salmon in sloe gin which was absolutely gorgeous. My husband then had the fillet steak which he said was beautifully cooked. I had the chicken and ham pie which was in a nice home made pastry. It came with... More

This little pub in a great rural location for us to finish off our weekend break. Stopped off for a bite to eat before we left the area, all good quality if a little expensive but the atmosphere and location made up for this. Will recommend.

Over the years we have been to the Cock Inn many many times, over a ten year period we have never had a bad evening here, it's gastro pub cuisine at its very best. The atmosphere is always buzzing, good quality food, reasonably priced and always has our guests enjoying the evening, without breaking the bank.

We have eaten here on numerous occassions over the years, Went there today for Sunday Lunch. Its just had a bit of a re-furb, with a new menu, but prices are far too high, for a brewery owned pub, including the drinks.Have seen a reduction in diners and drinkers over the years, at this lovely located pub, due to this... We have been to the Cock Inn a few times for lunch but always eaten in the bar and eat off normal menu. This time we sat in the restaurant and had two Sunday lunches. I had the Trio with Beef, Pork and Chicken and my wife had the lamb. While it came with lots of veg and Yorkshire, but... More
