We came across this little pub as we couldn't get into the Four Alls, Welford and how lucky this was for us! After being told at the Four Alls that we couldn't eat without having previously booked, we received a very friendly welcome from the waiter who said that we could have a table even thought they were busy but... Have been eating at this pub/restaurant for many years. Always excellent food and friendly service. The owners Colin and Theresa are a lovely couple and always make you feel very welcome. It is a very old pub with low beamed ceilings in the bar area but has a very light conservatory area. The outside dining area has been well set... More

I haven't eaten at The Bell for ages - but I was once again delighted by really well cooked fish, so hard to find especially in more inland locations. I had hake fillets on risotto. My dining companion had Nicely Spiced Thai red vegetable curry - and apparently it was indeed Nicely Spiced. We went on a very passable affogato.... More

My partner and I have been eating at the Bell every Wednesday for the past few weeks. No matter what we choose off the menu, the food is always amazing. There are always good specials on offer which are different every week. The service is very attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. It's a special place. Last week they had... More

Nice location, some good items on the menu although some seemed pricey for what you got (I had a beef salad which included only thing slices of cold beef and rocket). Nice beer and cider. Good service.

Went here last night with friends and as usual the food was excellent, we make this our place of choice if we want something special on a night out or even just a quick walk in meal in our jeans. We had bruschetta, deep fried Brie and chicken goujons for starters then the chicken special (chicken breast in a creamy... More

The numbers of restaurants open on a Sunday evening so decided to return to The Bell which we hadn't eaten at for a couple of years. The restaurant was perhaps half full but the wait for food was excessive, about 45 minutes after ordering. Most of the meal choices were reasonable quality though the one fish dish was a little... The Bell is better than your average pub grub and I cannot fault the service. The waitresses were smiling and cheerful and eager to please. As it was a beautiful evening we chose to sit out in the garden. We spotted a lovely 'hut-style' table and were about to sit down when we saw notices saying it was a dedicated... More
