Evening meal

Had early evening meal of fish and chips, very tasty, staff very friendly and helpful. Gave advice on travel and found a local taxi company to take us to music venue outside town.

The staff here really make all the difference; they are extremely helpful, the food was great, and the Anglo-Irish guy takes great personal pride in pouring and serving the best Guiness that I've tasted in a long time. Worth a visit!

This is a nice traditional old pub with beams etc and a pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly and I was made to feel welcome. There was a reasonable menu from which I chose Scampi and Chips. Everything was very well cooked and I enjoyed my meal. I also enjoyed a glass of the very nice house rose wine. I... More

I was very appreciative of an excellent fish pie, served with very good seasonal vegetables.Very hungry, I almost succumbed to an overpriced Cotswold gastro pub, but thankfully I had the good sense to eat in Shipston in a proper pub.

We visited the Horseshoes as had enjoyed it before. Only wanted a snack this time as wanted to pick up Thai curry from Black Horse to eat at home with fizz on Valentines! We we Not told there was a long wait,as an adjacent table was so assumed ok for sandwich. It took half an hour! My Cajun chicken was... More

Thank you so much for submitting a review. I am so sorry that your experience was not as good as it should have been. I agree half an hour is an unacceptable wait for a sandwich and am extremely annoyed that it did not arrive in the correct "bakery bread" - it certainly should have! I have spoken to the... More

Called in for an evening meal as the menu was so varied - something to suit everyone in our party of 6. It was very busy and we did have to wait possibly longer than usual but not a problem for us as we loved the warm, cosy room and pleasant atmoshere. The meals were lovely - all perfectly cooked...
