Excellent and helpful staff, good beer, cider wine along with a small but good menu and excellent food which is all you need from a pub.

After walking up and down looking for a place to eat we came across the Horse Shoe greeted with a warm welcome and Doombar on draught result! Both had Steak cooked to perfection and the Stilton cheese sauce was awesome! Lovely meal

Came upon this when looking for somewhere to eat. Service was fast and friendly, food was good, and was good value for money.

what a little find, fab food, choice of drinks, a real pub. No tv or music ,friendly bar staff(let us try a beer we had never heard of) and invited us back the next evening to join in the free Quiz. even added a couple of Yorkshire based questions for us.

A quaint place, worth a visit. The George another pub in the village gets good reviews, but we thought we would try this pub. They had some local beers on tap which is always a good sign and simple but nice British style food. Highly recommended was the rabbit pie, fish cakes and local ale. The service was friendly and... Was directed here by a barmaid at another pub who were having there kitchen renovated. When I went in and saw the interior which is a little shabby in place, but clean, I thought about moving on but gave it a go. Had cauliflower soup which was really nice and creamy, followed by a steak sandwich with chips and onion... More

Lively friendly, welcoming pub with reliable pub food. There is always a good selection of specials and they have some great beers. Nothing is too much trouble.

We decided on the Horseshoe as one of or our party was a new resident to the town and had never been in there before. What a great choice. We ate in... More

Greetings and thank you for your review. Firstly , I am sorry that you did not enjoy your burger & chips - the burgers are genuinely homemade in our kitchen - but obviously these were not to your liking and the customer should be and always is (with us) right. The chips aren't actually frozen (ambient) and your point is... More
