Enjoyed a first visit to the Redgate on the A5 on Saturday night just before half 7 and luckily we were able to be squeezed in. Very good choice on the menu so we had an excellent starter each and as we couldn't decide what to choose from, I selected the steak and old thumper ale pie and handcut chips... More

Thought we'd try the Redgate Steakhouse for a change. Used to drive past it daily on the way to work but never stopped. It's about 15 miles away, so a bit of a trek, but it was worth it. Staff are friendly and attentive, we got one of the only 2 tables not reserved, which tells you something. Good selection... More

We chose this place because of its location. Apart from the road works on the A5 access was good. The menu had a good choice and the were several things I would have liked to have tried. In the end I had the duck confit starter as did our friend and my husband had the fish cake. This was all... More

The steak was very nice over priced at £19.95 for a 10oz steak and mash, sauce and veg or mushrooms all extra at between £2-£3 each. The staff where very good plenty of choice. food was good but for... More

The steak I had was actually to die for, cooked to absolute perfection. However my daughter also asked for medium rare, but her steak was over cooked, so they lack a bit of consistency. They could do with more staff as service was somewhat slow and attention to detail ie a dirty glass and dirty salt and pepper shakers was... More

a group of about nine or ten Morgan owners occasionally meet here as it is fairly central for most of us to make a two hour journey....and last week, we journeyed from most corners to meet for a Christmas pie. A very warm welcome, great food, superb service, great price, and the guarantee we will be there again soon. Thanks... More

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. No one around, no staff, no customers eventually bar staff appeared. Ordered drinks and sat in the bar area for a meal. Slow service as only manager their to serve and a few other customers arrived. Eventually ordered the food. Husband went to the loo and he is they were absolutely disgusting, filthy dirty. My... Although it has improved since my last visit, it still needs a good polish. Slow service and not hot food still not acceptable

No complaints at all about the food; beef in particular was delicious and the veg were great too. Service was pleasant (though we had to wait a little while for the initial drinks) - main drawback was the general atmosphere and ambience on the occasion of our Sunday afternoon visit...it was reasonably busy but the layout and decor seemed a...
