Description: The Horse and Jockey is a privately owned business around a 5 minute drive...
The Horse and Jockey is a privately owned business around a 5 minute drive from the centre of Market Bosworth. Set in pretty countryside, alongside the Ashby canal network and Ivanhoe cycle path. The property after sometime closed was completely refurbished and redesigned reopening in November 2011. The business now has a popular seperate restaurant, a spacious room that is both informal and relaxing. The menu offerings have emphasis on flavours, freshness and good value and what we have created is a modern approach to traditional favourites. We also have a seperate bar and lounge area where we have an open fire, cask ales, a varied wine menu and great selection of malt whiskies. In addition to the restaurant we have a bar menu offering a simpler approach to eating with us but without compromising our cooking principles. In the summer you can enjoy the weather using our large garden area or maybe on the terrace. We hope to see you soon...

Thank you meal with friend.

Took a good friend here for a 'thank you' meal. Been here 4 times before and like the ambience and friendy staff. The weekday £16 menu is good value and a good choice. The Steak pie was very nice, my wife had the lamb which she felt was excellent and our friend had the 'fish & chip's' which... read more

Went here on a recommendation and weren't disappointed. We went on a Sunday lunch but only booked the table that morning, We ate in the bar however it actually looked nicer than the restaurant as it was light and the tables were well spaced out. The food was absolutely delicious and the child's cheese pasta was so lovely we all... More

They kindly hosted a buffet lunch for our local shooting club. They couldn't do enough to meet our requirements and the food was excellent particularly the tomato and chilli soup.

We booked for Sunday Lunch from a recommendation. Lovely country pub with excellent quality ingredients, meat that melted in your mouth and extremely friendly staff. Perfect.

Went with another couple for an early bite to eat with a view to watching the open mic session with benji williams. Food was a little average. A friend had the steak which was ok but an awful peppercorn sauce. My chicken breast was bland but welll cooked with a poor sauce. Nothing to write home about.. On a positive... More

I'd been here before so decided to book for a pre Christmas celebration for five of us a couple of days before. We all opted for the Christmas menu. I think the venue has the atmosphere right, we had live music that was a nice background enhancer but not invasive. To me the style is right and it's a hidden... More

My wife and I booked at short notice for Sunday lunch today. It was our first visit and it will most certainly not be our last. On arrival we found the staff most welcoming, were shown to a nice table in the attractively decorated dining room which was spacious but also provided a cosy atmosphere. The wine list is extensive... More

Went to the H&J for Sunday lunch yesterday. As ever, the service was good- just attentive enough without being intrusive - and the food, as ever was excellent. Interesting, well cooked, loads of vegetables and plentiful. Who could want more? Only problem was having to leave the coziness of the pub to brave the grey and gloomy January afternoon.
