Description: The Horse and Jockey is a privately owned business around a 5 minute drive...
The Horse and Jockey is a privately owned business around a 5 minute drive from the centre of Market Bosworth. Set in pretty countryside, alongside the Ashby canal network and Ivanhoe cycle path. The property after sometime closed was completely refurbished and redesigned reopening in November 2011. The business now has a popular seperate restaurant, a spacious room that is both informal and relaxing. The menu offerings have emphasis on flavours, freshness and good value and what we have created is a modern approach to traditional favourites. We also have a seperate bar and lounge area where we have an open fire, cask ales, a varied wine menu and great selection of malt whiskies. In addition to the restaurant we have a bar menu offering a simpler approach to eating with us but without compromising our cooking principles. In the summer you can enjoy the weather using our large garden area or maybe on the terrace. We hope to see you soon...

Friendly staff, great service & food, lovely place. Nice bar area with lots of interesting interior design pieces you can purchase. Been here several times and had meals from snack menu and evening menu - all really good.

We went bank holiday Saturday lunchtime with 3 generations of the family. The restaurant had only one other table of four occupied. The decor is classy and the food superb. Two different menus to choose from with all needs catered for at our table. Not cheap at £122 for five of us for two courses and drinks but all the... More

As a regular visitor to the Horse & Jockey, Martin and the team kindly arranged for a bubbly breakfast event to mark my 40th. Can't thank them all enough, lovely food as always, friendly service, and lovely surroundings all made for a great morning.

My brother and his wife booked this restaurant as a treat for my mom, dad, my daughter and myself, six of us altogether for last Saturday. The staff were very good and very attentive. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere was great. We went early evening so it was not too busy however when we left at about 9... More

Lovely food, more expensive than pub grub but then the quality of the food is far from pub grub. Beautifully cooked and presented. I had the Sea Bass and hubby had the fish and chips. I had the Tropical Fruit pudding too which was scrummy . We think we have found our new favourite place! The waitress was lovely and... More

I think I am usually disappointed when visiting most restaurants, with either the food, or the level of slapdash service you receive these days, possibly as I used to wait on tables myself although it was around 20 years ago, well i can say that I have now visited the Horse and Jockey around 6 times over the last 2-3... Firstly I will point out what was good about our visit. We were not rushed and we were not pressured to leave. This is very important. Also perfect timing of starter and main coming out and time between each course. A group of five of us were shown to our table for Sunday lunch. Only one of us had a... More

We had an excellent meal. Next time we'll make sure the children's food is coming with the starters ( rather than at the same time as our main course), and we'll ask them to make sure the mains come asap after we finish the starters - the gap was too long with children. But overall very good, dishes for children... More

My Wife and I eat here one evening as we were travelling on the nearby canal. It was very busy but after a short wait we were shown to a nice table in the very long dining area. The place is quite upmarket and smart. We opted for the £16 midweek menu offer of starter + main. The starters (a... More
