Underwhelming Choice

There's nothing really seriously wrong here and it suited our needs for the first night over the road at the Premier Inn. But the menu is priced strangely and there's hardly any choice. It's all very underwhelming. Even the choice of two real ales (Doom Bar and Brakespeare) became one when they'd... read more

My boyfriend and another friend came here Easter Saturday and while it was very busy we enjoyed a huge but cheap breakfast. The Yorkshire puddings with bacon in are lovely and all the regular breakfast bit are all there. Lovey breakfast all round

Having visited a number of Toby Carverys in my region I got used to what was standard, know what to expect, fresh roast of the day at a very attractive price, however things have changed drastically with the food, possibly just at this venue, I don't know! I visited on a Wednesday about 2.30, the schools were still on holiday... More

Toby carvery Washington, we visited as a family 2 adults 1 teenager. We arrived at about 7pm on Wednesday. Had to wait for a table about 5 minutes. Service was fast and efficient. Collected our food which was hot and well presented. The carver was polite and helpful. Food was excellent. No one had puddings too full ! The restaurant... More

We travelled down from Scotland over the Easter weekend. We ate here on Saturday evening. Excellent food, excellent service (thanks Amy!) and enjoyable experience. Lots of lovely fresh veg, and the meat was lovely on the carvery. Quite happy to give a good review. Then fast forward to Easter Sunday, when we ate here again. Totally different experience. We thought... More

On a busy Easter Sunday it was a pleasure to send a leisurely hour at the Toby enjoying an excellent and value for money breakfast. Cheerful staff, a good choice of breakfast options (although the lack of hash browns is a sad loss) and pleasant surroundings. With a long day ahead the all you can eat breakfast is always a... As I work nearby I have regularly attended this restaurant for breakfast after my shift. At that time it is always an enjoyable experience, brilliant food, friendly service, no complaints. (In fact I think the chef who is regularly left on his own during the breakfast shift needs a medal!).The policy in the morning is usually just walk in, pay,... More

Visited on a very busy Easter Saturday morning 🐣. Considering the amount of people waiting for breakfast we were attended to quickly both at the till and carvery area. As always the selection on offer is fantastic for the great value price of £3.99 and as its buffet style you can eat as much as you like including toast. The... More

Busy Sunday with huge queues for the food. But friendly and helpful staff. My wife found the beef a bit hard... Our server immediately offered a change of meat. Food enjoyed by who family. Just so so so busy... which is great for them . Tip... come after 2.30 for Sunday lunch as crowds much smaller.
