reliable, sunday lunch but had better for the price

my friend and I arrived at 1.30 on a Sunday and yes it was packed, but the hostess was great. Checked we'd been before and asked us to wait for a table. We only waited 10 minute, which wasn't bad. The only gripe was the meat. 2 chefs were trying to get the queue down by moving down the line... read more

frequent visitor for carvery but decided to go for a breakfast. never again. what a change as to how things run. we stood at the book in table but even though plenty of staff passed by, not one could be bothered to ask if we needed help. when i asked it was a 1 word answer. "queue" then was pointed... More

Went for the first time with my husband for breakfast. Fast service, the lady was very helpful. The food was lovely and tastey and very hot you could go up for seconds if you wanted to.

We do call here as it's handy. The food was lovely today when we got it eventually , when the carvery chef appeared and then stopped talking to his mate. The service is so hit & miss when we come. If certain people are on ( Michelle in particular ) it's great, however today the lad serving was nowhere to... More

I live close to this Toby and frequent it about 6 times a year. My last visit was with relatives from Australia and the experience could have been better. We were told it would be about 15 mins for a table which we agreed to and said we would have a drink at the bar. 15mins later our table was... More

Not the best I'm afraid. In its defence I find all Toby Carvery's hit or miss and is dependant on time and how busy they are. Yesterday they were quiet snd the food had been on the stand for a while. I had the end of the beef which like the veg was dry. Staff were friendly though

Have used this carvery a number of times and the service is always reliable, the food of a good quality and the place has a high level of cleanliness in all areas including the washrooms. Have never gone with the £1.50 upgrade for extra choice of meat and chipolata's as I have always found the meat given on a standard... More

I am not from round this area and all I can say is that I wish we had a carvery like this back home. We have Crown carveries and they are rubbish compared to a Toby Carvery. The meats I had were beef and turkey, both were tasty and juicy. The range of vegetables, was wider than I expected. All... More

Visited this venue for an early evening dinner (Carvery), we were promptly shown to a table and our orders taken. The meal was a typical Carvery with a choice of four meats and various vegetables, however on eating the meal it became obvious that the food had been standing for some time, the food was very bland, the Yorkshire puddings...
