For me, the test of a restaurant is how well they cater for my dairy intolerance. I wanted the sea bass dish, which is usually cooked in butter and served with creamy mashed potato. They did a special version of grilled sea bass with sauteed potatoes and some veg/salad. Also, my boyfriend had a large pizza. He thoroughly enjoyed it.... More

I was a regular at Al Forno up until the middle of 2013. I have now been able to return as work brings me this way again... The food remains absolutely authentic and totally enjoyable. The staff are as friendly and efficient as ever and I strongly recommend this restaurant to all. If you fancy excellent Italian cuisine, then save... More

What a disaster zone this place was. Turned up at 8.30 having booked earlier in the week. They pretended to know about the booking as they frantically tried to find a table. We stood like lemons for over 10 minutes whilst they prepared our seating. We ordered our drinks quickly enough but then sat for 20 mins before the starter... More

Al Forno has never failed to disappoint and many of our neighbours agree. We have been coming since moving to the area 5 years ago and always get a warm welcome, great service and fantastic food. Whether on a night out as a couple, with friends or with the kids we know we'll always have a great time, great food... More

I came here for my sisters 22nd Birthday meal, we all love Italian food and we were not disapointed. The Pizzas are of a huge size and so I was able to share one with my sibling, they also catered beautifully for my 3 year old niece who thoroughly enjoyed herself. The staff were wonderful, they even sang happy birthday... More

Nothing special. My complaint is the drinks took too long to come and food ordered also took too long like almost an hr and when it came they got the pizzas wrong all 3 of them and there were 6. Lost my appetite in the end.

Restaurant decorated nicely inside. Location across from the river in Kingston... Can sit outside.. Have to say the food was not good! Tasteless and very much looked like it had just been thrown together! Calamari was chewy & served with old lettuce ! We sent it back they took it off our bill -£7.50 ££ Ordered pasta & garlic bread... More

Bog standrad Italian. The staff try to make it exciting. But perhaps try slightly too hard. Buzzy. Great atmosphere. And interesting people watching to be done particularly at the weekend. But the food isn't as good as the ambience. If you want entertainment go here. If you want great food go somewhere else.

Al Forno is a lovely restaurant situated just back from the river front on the outskirts of the town centre in Kingston. The atmosphere is reminds me of those Dolmio puppets in their pasta sauce adverts. We each had a starter and a Pizza with a bottle of wine (to share ;). The staff were friendly and engaging. A nice... More

We ordered a pizza with prosciutto and rucola. The topping of cheese and Parma ham was rich and good, although there could have definitely been more rucola, just a few tiny leaves sprinkled over a large pizza are too few to make the taste balanced. The base was the real weak point, though: soft and not crunchy at all, as... More
