This was a Saturday night at about 6.30pm. Four adults and two children.Waitress had a poor grasp of English. This made it difficult to get an explanation of the various dishes. Ordered starters a very simple dish of nachos. This was OK.(Hard to go wrong with this!). The children had steak tacos which were mainly bulked up with aubergine and... More

We went on a Friday night without a reservation, we were asked to wait 5 minutes at the bar so we ordered a couple of cocktails: virgin mojito for me as driving and a Long Island ice tea, both were very average and after reading previous reviews of this place I could well believe they're out of a packet. After... More

Oh My Word this place was awful! While there were many aspects of my evening that were unedifying the greatest disappointment was the food. It was, to put it bluntly, a crime on a plate. The food was accompanied by nothing but the sad abyss of an empty restaurant and a from-the-packet cocktail mix. I generally agree with the horrendous... More

I was excited to visit El Peyote after reading the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, so when we were arrived we were surprised to find the restaurant almost completely empty...at 8 o'clock on a Friday night! Perhaps it's a slow one, we thought. We were quickly seated by a friendly waiter and we began looking at the menus. On the... More

Went on a Saturday night about 7pm, we did book but when we got there it was quiet, which was nice. Sat next to the window which was also nice. Had nachos to share for starters, was lovely. Just the right amount of tortillas chips and toppings. Had chicken fajitas for main, which came out on a sizzling plate sort... More

Alike the last few reviewers I would not return to this restaurant again if you paid me! I visited this restaurant on Monday night with the reviewer before me. The staff were far too busy chatting and playing on their laptops to care about their customers and when approached about the quality of the food or the fact we had... More

Visited with a group of friends on a Monday night. The restaurant was nearly empty and yet the service was still terrible. From the start the manager tried to make us order a set menu insisting that 'groups' have to order a set menu. Well there were only 6 of us and this had certainly not been mentioned when we... More

I have been to El-Peyote a few times and had until my last visit found the food and service excellent, However after trying the new menu the food is bland and not well cooked Mexican food at all, I ordered a Veggie Burrito and was served a veggie wrap with rice on the side, my friend also found a piece... I ordered guacamole and nachos. The guacamole was clearly shop-bought-dip with a light green glow and no texture. They had perhaps added some tabasco to hide the bland flavour because it was overpoweringly and bizarrely spicy. The nachos were, and I'm serious here, Tesco Value or another 'basic' supermarket range. I can not even describe them as being similar to... More
