I believe they lost their drinks license. I suspect it fell apart from there. Nothing much else to say but these reviews must be more than 100 characters.

Been a good few times when it was first open and when the old owner had it, food was amazing, innovative, combination of tastes that I'd never though of, first time I really enjoyed nachos ( had the seafood one) great! We went back not knowing the owners changed but didn't have to ask u could figure out its not... More

I really can only echo "berni4" comments below in terms of the customer experience. The waitress really could not understand English properly and any request outside of the menu did not sink in. Had tiger prawns and wings for starters - both were cooked fine, but were not really "Mexican" - the side salad you get is interesting! My main... More

We went to El Peyote because of a recommendation of a friend about 3 months ago. I understand it may have changed owners since then. We ordered drinks, I asked for a Long Island Iced Tea which was poorly made, mostly ice and water - no real flavour. The waitress could not answer a couple of questions about the menu... More

The food is delicious. The cocktails are tasty and good value for money. Between the car, which is split in half, the guitarist, the sombreros and the bar man, the atmosphere is lovely. I called ahead and let them know i was brigning a big group. I asked them to make a special effort as I was taking my family.... More

They have recently changed owners and that was reflected in the food. Last time I went the food was ok but this time excellent! We had the calamari starter and Chicken Burrito and the food was very good and well presented. You won't leave hungry :)

Glad we didn't read reviews before going as we probably wouldn't have risked it. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived but by the time we had left, business had picked up. Food was good with a few people trying the surf and turf fajitas and one the chicken burrito. Sangria and guacamole were delicious and... More

Since the change in ownership, service and atmosphere has plummeted. Poor quality drinks, even the whisky is terrible. A real shame as El Peyote was a great lively addition to the street,

the list is endless on the negatives. the food, the prices, the service, cleaniless, the attitude. the food is just poor quality, cheap ingredients and not the right spices to make it taste better, with the prices being charged they should maybe give the customer the quality that is deserved. we ordered cokes and it was served from a bottle... On arrival our group of 4 was greeted by a gent who ushered us in through the front door, we mentioned we'd booked a table earlier in the week but that seemed to just be ignored. Our waitress was hilarious !! Not a single English word was understood by her all evening! we had to point at the menu and... More
