We ate here on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The service was very good, the food delicious and arrived promptly. Have to say we've never had such a large selection of pickles & dips with out poppadoms before - 8 in total and all yummy! Portion sizes were generous, the curries were tasty and not oily at all, naans... More

It's OK. Not bad, not great. Needed a torch to see the food, which was oily but nice. That polite, professional but slightly distant service that everyone's familiar with. Few stains on the carpet, few flaws in the decor. All in all, a thoroughly average experience. Lots of locals seem to like it though, judging by the reviews. Had a... More

Busy on arrival at 8.15pm on a Tuesday evening, it took 20 minutes to even order a drink. Service was a bit slow in the early stages but got better as the restaurant began to empty. The food is consistently good here though and not too pricey. It's a bit cosy inside though, so if you want a restaurant where... More

Good food - went on a Thursday when it was special night! Portions huge but very tasty. Good service the only thing that put me off was the two guys at another table with a swearing habit. Glad when they said in their overbearing voices we are off to the forresters!

Nice food, nice surroundings but very poor service. If you don't want to be told to move to another part of the premises because they suddenly have a party of 10 in the middle of your meal, don't come here. Food is alright, but the treatment of customers is not.

Visited twice. The waiters didn't bother asking us for appetisers or drinks. We had to ask. The second time, we weren't given a hot plate. Waiters have no interaction with customers. It seemed like asking for a glass of water was a huge chore to them. Overall service was poor.

A really good old fashioned Indian experience. Food was superb. Service good. The only negative ( or is it a positive? ) is the very dark lighting-reading the menu was a tad tricky. Would certainly recommend .

Went to this restaurant during a visit to son and daughter in law who live in Kingston, on the recommendations in trip adviser. The food was really good and the service impeccable. We has two sharing platters, a vegetarian and a meat to start, with a selection of curries and side dishes to follow. Everything was well explained, and we... More

This is how they all used to be, traditional and without frills. And there's always a place for that! Good food, lots of vegetarian options, some friendly waiters / some a little surly. If you want twinkly lights, fancy plates and little amuse bouches then go to Chutney Mary....for good proper curry, go here!
