For those who don't get to enjoy this dining experience by staying at the hotel, it's worth making a detour into Chalk Lane in Old Epsom where the quality of the dishes is only exceeded by the excellence of the service. I didn't pay the bill and didn't pay much attention to the price. But I must say that it was a surprisingly good experience exceeding expectations for this small hotel in the south suburbs of London.

Booked a table on a Friday night and despite it being very quiet, had one of the best meals out of all the restaurants in Epsom. French inspired food and generous portions. Excellent starter of puy lentil salad. Good game mains of rabbit and pigeon. Very good wine list. Lovely mille feuille and generous cheese selection for desert. Excellent service.... More

First time here in a year or so. Excellent food and service, as always. A bit quiet though, as is often the case. Presumably the management make sufficient money from hotel guests and functions, so they don't need to advertise to get more locals in. I imagine it gets pretty rammed when there's racing on at the Downs too. Shame... More

We had another lovely meal here this week. Still great service and good quality food. For what you get I don't think the food is expensive. My husband is never disappointed as a meat eater. As a vegetarian there was a very limited choice this week.. NO main course vegie option at all.

Breakfast was as hearty or as light as you wanted it. Entrees come with a buffet, or you can just do buffet. Dinner options were varied. I loved the scallops and beef dishes. Did not care for the King Prawn, I think the menu changes seasonally, at least, but I've only been here during mid May 2013.

Without a doubt the food is good. The menu is not extensive, but offers a good cross sectional choice. The fine food is complimented by the pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be returning and look forward to it.

We're local and come here quite often. Sometimes we have the restaurant almost to ourselves. The menu is interesting and changes quite often. Although at times the chef's ambition overeaches his skill, the food is always beautifully presented and we have an enjoyable meal. Good service - staff are friendly and helpful.

A particularly average meal which all seemed a bit....poor. They'd do much better to serve Marks and Sparks meals here - which after our £50 a head meal - we'd wishes we'd had instead (saving a good £90). Really average.

The resturant provides excellent dishes in a friendly atmosphere.The menu gives a interesting selection which enhances the tastebuds. Worth a visit especially for a celebration. They have a very good private dinning room with an outdoor area for pre dinner drinks
