Booked table for seven and had to pay £5 per head deposit weeks before the actual booking. Arrived on day and told that my pram with a 3 week old baby could not go into the restaurant and that the baby would need to be held throughout our lunch. The pram had to be left outside. At the end of... More

What a lovely surprise our lunch was today at The Muted Swan. The Service and food made our lunch relaxed and well priced. The only draw back was the order of chips which I would recommend asking for a minimum of 2 serves if one person is just eating chips. The pheasant was well received and the chocolate tart and... I visited as part of a Christmas party during December 2014. I was very pleasantly surprised by the whole place. The food was very excellent with a nice and interesting selection of wines and the draft beers where all well kept. All the staff stood out and as being friendly and attentive and although most were quite young there was... More

Ideal location for visiting The Palace situated opposite the main entrance. Visited with family.from Wales. The restaurant is light and airy with attractive decor. The service was excellent and Katie the ideal waitress, cheerful and attentive. The meal was excellent but not huge. Considering the location the prices are reasonable. I shall be returning soon.

Have now visited a couple of times and have been impressed on both occasions. Upstairs restaurant has a lovely informal atmosphere and the food was very good. Equally the bar area downstairs has a relaxed air to it and serves some lovely ales. Staff are great in both areas and prices are fair. A good proper pub not trying to... More

Just moved to the area and have eaten here twice. Today with the family for Sunday lunch and it was awesome. Food is excellent and service is great. Feel so lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

Superb food and a fantastic range of wines and beers. Staff are really helpful and enthusiastic, the place is very popular with locals and tourists so it is worth booking. Food was excellent and varied. Prices are reasonable, and very good value for money. A truly enjoyable experience. Thanks to Sal and the team. Very definitely worth a return visit.... More
