Much better

I'd previously eaten at both of Mr John's old restaurants in Croydon and criticised them both for being vastly overpriced. This time my visit was just before 6 on a Friday in July. It was almost empty, service was therefore good and rapid which suited my circumstances. I had oysters, delicious... read more

This restaurant is actually the nearest to where my Mum lives! What a stroke of luck. We've been a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is classic French - quality seasonal produce, well established flavour combinations, and tried-and-tested techniques in the kitchen. On Monday evening, our service was very slightly chaotic...we had to issue a couple of... More

It was a great experience. Fab food and who can beat lobster! Book your table now. The service was great, but the menu leaves plenty to explore and taste. I think the atmosphere lends it's self to the jazz era, lovely vibe.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary at Brasserie Vacherin in Croydon and it was the best dining experience we have had in years. The food was excellent and the staff welcoming and accommodating. The highlight for us was the Chef, Malcolm John, speaking with us and congratulating us on our anniversary. We do not get out... Having eaten here many times, even when it was under it's former name of Fish and Grill, I have always considered it to be a cut above the others that surround it in Croydon. This was the reason that we (my new wife and I) decided to celebrate our wedding there on 29th May. A small affair (there were six... More

Been looking for a nice place it have breakfast in Croydon somewhere that does Eggs Benedict & I finally found one-woohoo! The hostess was very friendly & greeted me with a huge smile. I just had to try the eggs Benedict & it wasn't too bad-ham instead of bacon was a bit odd as was the sweet brioche roll rather... More

Went on a Saturday lunchtime, main problem was the lack of diners, not sure why it is so empty as the food was really very good. Had chicken liver parfait and a sirloin steak with a peppercorn sauce, (the ribeye was not available as they were waiting for a meat delivery). My only real gripe was the tiny amount of... More

Went on a busy Saturday night and the service was still impeccable as was the food, with choices to suit most budgets.
