Description: A slice of the big city in Croydon, Aqua Brasserie is the brainchild of experienced chefs Dasos Charalambous and Dario Nardo. Both come to Aqua fresh from some of Londons top hotels, bringing with them the eye for detail and knowledge of good service characteristic of the best dining rooms of the capital. A contemporary space which will doubtless appeal to the young and fashionable, Aqua Brasserie has a slick design in monochrome tones and with plenty of exposed brick, glossy wooden floors and, the pice de rsistance, a vast open kitchen behind which the chefs work with a flourish and a smile. Informed by bright, sunny Mediterranean flavours, Aqua Brasseries menus is mainly Greek but with a good splash of Italian in the pastas and risottos and a sprinkle of French for good measure. The meze plate for two is an ideal selection for relaxed but romantic dining, accompanied by one of the good value, high quality wines on the Aqua list.

Found the food to be disappointing & overpriced. Staff are too busy chatting amongst themselves to provide you with any service. Will not be going back.

We have been to Aqua Brasserie several times both as a couple and as a group of friends. The manger has always welcomed us and we ahve been served quickly and made to feel really welcome. Our food has always been freshly cooked and really tasty, the st menu is a steal. The calamari is the best ever (in South... More

Ate once and food and service were fine. then went for sunday lunch. Waited 5 mins to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. then had to ask for menus, then ask to order. starter was barely defrosted prawn cocktail, freind had chewy duck salad. Had to send my roast back as it sat and watched it go cold under... More

Second visit, would not visit again, restaurant owner very rude when we refused to pay optional service charge 12.5%. Do not understand that we thought food was ok but service appalling. Prebooked table not ready on arrival, no apology, had to ask for bread twice, wrong starters delivery, overcharged on bill. Toilets out of order, only one ladies working, very... More

This was my second visit to Aqua in as many months and both times were good. Reading the mixed reviews on TA I thought that maybe we were just lucky the first time but this visit was equally good. The management aren't selling a high end silver service experience, the service is very casual, the tables are close together and... More

Table not ready on arrival, was told to take a seat, no complimentary drink offered. Asked for jug of water with wine but was given bottled water which was added to the bill, nice food, good presentation, slightly expensive. Tables so close together difficult to move and chat intimately, only one toilet working which was labelled ladies, no men toilets.... More

Food ok with good presentation, very noisy as larger parties dining, visited previously with work colleagues for meeting and received good service hence our return tonight with friends, us raving about discovering this superb restaurant. Phoned ahead as taste card holder to precook as advised, arrived to find no record of booking hence table not ready. Wrong starter delivered to... More

We dined out mid week and it was very busy - we even got a look of derision when we said we had dared not to book ahead. The tables were close together and chatter was loud, so this is not the place for an intimate meal out! We ate from the set menu which still had a nice selection... More

WE went for a family meal with my dad who had just spent a month in Italy and is very fussy! Decent selection of wines, proper Chianti classico with the black rooster, have had some bad experiences recently with bottles called one thing and containing another! The place was heaving which we thought was a good sign on a Thursday... More

My girlfriend and I arrived on time for our 8:30 booking on a Saturday night. We were told that the table was not ready and that we should have a drink at the bar. Note that we were not offered a complimentary drink but told to buy ourselves one! We finally sat down just before 9:00 and began our meal.... More
