Aqua Mediterranean Meze Bar and Grill is the brainchild of two highly experienced chefs, Dasos Charalambous and Dario Nardo. Both have trained and worked in some of London's top hotels and seized the chance to open their own restaurant when the right premises came up in South End. Aqua Brasserie Croydon They liked the look of the contemporary-styled eaterie at 33-35 South End and with a few tweaks here and there to lend just a little more sophistication, opened their brasserie. "Our aim is to offer people a place where they can enjoy quality food, at reasonable prices in a place where they can sit and chill," said Dasos. And I have to say the food really is first class. It's nothing too fancy - just simple, quality food cooked to perfection.

Great restaurant

What a wonderful restaurant! The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The menu is varied but not overly so with something for everyone. All of our dishes were fresh and tasty and very much enjoyed. We had a very loud table next to us that preferred to shout at each other rather than speak, we... read more

I've been coming here for 6 years and I'm never disappointed. From the get go I'm greeted like an old friend. Ambience is great for dining with friends and especially celebrations. We thoroughly enjoyed two- three course meals including creamy chicken penne pasta, crispy duck salad, moist roast pork, fish feast, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and vanilla pan... More

Came to this establishment on Thursday 19-02-2015 with my partner as a late valentine’s meal. We arrived with plenty of time prior to our booking, when we arrived it didn’t seem overly busy as there was only two other groups inside at that time. As soon as we walked through the door, one of the waiters had greeted us and... More

Have been here many occasions and always loved it, however last night the service was terrible. They had a problem with their fryer and so after an hour we were told that two of our starters were unavailable. Alternative starters were eventually delivered after an hour and a half's wait. Main course was tasty, though some of the veg were... More

We visited Aqua for the first time in January 2015, with a friend who has eaten consistently at top class restaurants across the UK. We all enjoyed our food very much and also some excellent wine. Not cheap but excellent value, good attentive service even though they were very busy. We shall save up and go again :-)

We had a very nice meal at Aqua this evening. Good location just outside central Croydon. Fairly good menu and wine selection. The service was good and quick, and the food was very good. The calves liver was superb with generous portions. Well worth a visit.

I am pleased to say that my visit surpassed what I expected due to mixed reviews on this site. Visited Sunday 1st Feb for lunch with my two sons 18 years and 14 years. I called and booked a table and no problem about using my tastecard. They were busy but service just right the chef even brought out our... More

Visit Aqua on Sunday lunch, wonderful meal and great value, the food itself was excellent, lots of choice and good size portions. The staff were very welcoming, the whole experience was really good. Definitely recommend.
