Evening Meal Summer 2014

Six of us arrived for an evening meal from our canal boating holiday. We were greeted by the sight of one of the owners vaccuuming his car directly outside the main entrance to the pub. A pleasant lady inside told us her baby had eaten the menus and they only had one copy of it (for all visitors... read more

The Lakeside Tavern saved our evening. We were on the Trent and Mersey and had moored by The Plume of Feathers at bridge 103, planning to dine there. Despite numerous advertising signs from them saying food all day everyday we found there was non. So................back to the canal guide and we found The Lakeside Tavern. We called them to ask... The landlady Tracy is an excellent host and she cooks all the food herself and it is very fresh so you have to wait a bit, but you are told this when you order so you don't mind.
