Slow service and they need to put the heating on

Where to start...Walked in and stayed by the "Wait here to be seated" sign...only for staff to ignore us (they saw us but must have been overwhelmed with the few occupied tables they had to deal with). After several minutes I had to go and ask a waitress to serve us and she looked surprised when I said I was... More

Having been to The Colliers several times over the past few years I've realised there's most of the time only one constant and that's the food is pretty good. Other than that the rest of my experiance there is pretty mediocre at best, take my latest visit there for example. Our table was booked for 6.30pm for group of eight,... More

We stayed at the adjoining Premier Inn for 3 nights over the Christams period & were advised by reception to book breakfast on arrival, as a "Meet Santa" breakfast event was taking place the next morning (Christmas Eve). I promptly went next door, and stood at the counter for several minutes before a member of staff enquired what I wanted.After... More

Visited on a Sunday with family, had to wait to be seated for around 10 minutes although it didnt appear busy, we seemed invisible to staff. After being seated we decided on the, in my opinion expensive carvery, big mistake, a choice of three meats until we got to the counter and they had run out of Turkey also roast... More

Food and service were both good at the Colliers, with friendly enthusiastic staff. Unusually the greeting point was empty, with a sign asking diners to go to the bar and order their food, which I did. However, did see other diners being greeted on arrival.

We visited for our sons birthday lunch. We booked online and had a couple of Tasty Rewards vouchers to use. We arrived early and had to search for a staff member, once we were shown our table our drinks were served quickly and the children were brought some activity packs. I showed the waitress our vouchers and she said we... More

I read some of the reviews of this place and as a result I was a little apprehensive. The price of the food was more than reasonable average tenner per main course. Good choice for kids who can mix and match on their menu and it wasn't all chips. Staff were friendly and very good with the kids. The food... More
