If you accept that this is a pub and in no way a restaurant, then you should not be disappointed. Visiting on Pie Wednesday I tried the steak and kidney pudding with a suet pastry. It looked very inviting (which is more than can be said for the prawn cocktail) but was bland, with yesterday's warmed up potatoes. My colleague... More

Always nice food at the Spread Eagle. Meal was beautiful, portion sizes are reasonable and so are the prices. The pudding was to die for - the ultimate brownie tower was lovely, make you gain a few inches on the hips. The staff are nice and friendly, very attentive. Will visit again.

We ate hear last night and it was incredibly busy. When we arrived we were told that we could have a table in 45 mins and so we had a drink in the garden which was pleasant. When we got our table the eating areas were still incredibly busy and staff looked particularly harassed. Indeed, it was difficult for us... More

Have eaten here a few times but last night was not a pleasant experience for me. We had booked a table but no one seemed to know anything about it. Waited half an hour to have our orders taken - and that only happened after repeated attempts to catch the waitress's eye rather than being attended to correctly. Ordered sirloin... More

We live fairly close to the Spread Eagle but for various reasons had not used this restaurant for a year or so. I regular get e mails and vouchers from them so I booked the Spread Eagle for 7pm on a Thursday evening for my wife and myself. When we arrived I realised I needn't have booked as there were... More

Nice meal with the family, good service although we had to wait a while for the desert order to be taken, in fact in the end we went up to the bar. Reasonable price.

We visited the spread this evening and were very disappointed!! We waited a while for my husbands starter & our daughters meal, they forgot my sons chips & they didn't come out until our mains!! Our daughters meal was excellent. We ordered off the light bites & my husbands was certainly a light bite!! The waitress was lovely but not... More

Since moving to the area we'd been on the lookout for a great food pub and decided to visit The Spread Eagle for Sunday Lunch last weekend. The food was great and the beer too! The pub has a lovely atmosphere, and is nicely located. We ate inside but the beer garden looked well worth a visit on a hot... More
