Have been to the spread a handful of times over the years, it's in such a beautiful village and has the potential to be outstanding, if only they took notice of these reviews!! We went for Sunday lunch and both had roast pork out in the garden, it was served with the pork, Yorkshire and gravy on the plate, then... More

The pub and garden are great. The pub is full of character and the staff were all very welcoming. Plenty of choice for drinks and, although we didn't eat, the food being served looked very tempting.

Nice position good food and no need to book ideal for family and children, outdoor tables good service, good car parking, ample space in the restaurant, olde world style, popular place on Sunday for lunches.

We met for a meal with friends at this very pleasant country pub where the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The menu was typical pub fare but of a good standard and very enjoyable. The company was obviously a major contributor to this successful evening, but the food and general ambience certainly helped. The price was reasonable and even better... More

Although the food and service was fine with no real complaints, I just felt that it could be taken to the next level. It's much better than the general, plastic pubs that abound nowadays and I would go back as the food was good without being outstanding. Service again was also fine. The pub itself needs a bit of a refurb... More

If you accept that this is a pub and in no way a restaurant, then you should not be disappointed. Visiting on Pie Wednesday I tried the steak and kidney pudding with a suet pastry. It looked very inviting (which is more than can be said for the prawn cocktail) but was bland, with yesterday's warmed up potatoes. My colleague... More

I had battered mushrooms with a limp wet lettuce leaf served on grease proof paper it looked awful but didn't taste too bad, my wife had pate with chutney, you guessed it served on the said paper, it was with trepidation we waited for the main, was it... Always nice food at the Spread Eagle. Meal was beautiful, portion sizes are reasonable and so are the prices. The pudding was to die for - the ultimate brownie tower was lovely, make you gain a few inches on the hips. The staff are nice and friendly, very attentive. Will visit again.

We ate hear last night and it was incredibly busy. When we arrived we were told that we could have a table in 45 mins and so we had a drink in the garden which was pleasant. When we got our table the eating areas were still incredibly busy and staff looked particularly harassed. Indeed, it was difficult for us... More

Have eaten here a few times but last night was not a pleasant experience for me. We had booked a table but no one seemed to know anything about it. Waited half an hour to have our orders taken - and that only happened after repeated attempts to catch the waitress's eye rather than being attended to correctly. Ordered sirloin... More
