Description: Ye Olde Rock Inn is a charming country inn dating back to the 17th century. Located at the foot of The Roaches and in the heart of the Peak District National Park it is an ideal base for walking, climbing and cycling or simply a beautiful backdrop for drink and a bite to eat.We pride ourselves on providing a friendly atmosphere for you to enjoy a relaxed drink and great home cooked food.We have a traditional bar lounge, large dining area, separate TV room and a pool room with our hikers bar (muddy boots & dogs welcome!). Weather permitting we have patio areas at the front and at the rear of the pub. We also have a function room and restaurant and for those who want to stay a little longer we even have a self contained, fully equipped, holiday flat which sleeps up to 4 people. Our extensive menu offers something for all tastes, whether you’re looking for a home made curry or chilli con carne or a more traditional choice of steaks or beer battered haddock (made with our own real ale). We offer a variety of meals on our specials board each day and we do a traditional roast dinner every Sunday lunchtime. We are also really excited to offer the unique, healthy and interactive HOT ROCK dining experience. We offer a wide range of draft and bottled beer. With bitters, lagers and ciders to suit all tastes, plus three cask ales, at least one of which is always from a local brewery. With over 30 different spirits, an extensive wine list and a good variety of soft drinks, you will never be short of choice at Ye Olde Rock Inn.We also offer a wide range of hot drinks as well so if you need warming up after a good walk on the Roaches on a cold winters day, fancy a nice afternoon coffee and cake, or just want to finish off your meal with an espresso or liqueur coffee, we have just what you’re looking for.

Greeted by a friendly funny guy, I guess who owns the pub. Like he's every bodies friend which I like personally . Good selection of drinks at the bar although wished for more cider options!! Ordered steak on the rocks, was a really new experience . Made the steak hot and tasty through out , where steak usually gets tough... More

Visited recently with friends after they recommended it. Average pub grub in an idyllic location, unfortunately spoilt by an unpleasant and rude hostess, not only to myself but to other customers.

We had a tradition, roast beef dinner and a gammon n chips and it was great. This is how it used to be - cooked on the premises just how you like it and plenty big portions. We had no room for pudding. We'll be going there again :)

Treating family to meal out. The steaks on hot lava rock are brilliant - lovely big piece of steak delivered to your table ( part cooked ) with super chips and salad. You then proceed to further cook your steak - whole or in parts on your own sizzling lava rock! The main problem I find with steak done the... More

Called on the off chance, pub very busy but staff found us a table for 6, very friendly team, decent Sunday lunch and fine selection beers & wines. Perfect stop off after long walk.

Landed here as one of a group of 10 after a day climbing on the Roaches. To be fair, despite having no tables available they let us have a reserved one provided we were out before 7.30. Manageable since we were in at opening time of 6pm. I had dish of the day - rosemary mash, green beans & trout.... More

I can see why the Old Rock gets such mixed reviews. It's a pleasant enough place for a drink and packet of crisps but, located where it is, it should (and could) be so much more brilliant. Sadly, its aspirations lie too low. Its many boasts of that non-sequitur beloved of so many country pubs ('homecooked food') sells but fails... More

This is not really a dog friendly pub. We booked as it was a Sunday and on arrival found our reserved table in a back room with small metal tables, a dartboard and a pool table. After a very short discussion we decided to sit outside as the weather was in our favour, this was fortunate as the room was... More
