My friends recommended this country pub after eating here last month,we too were just as impressed as they were! We had the haddock and a rump steak (medium to rare) which was more a medium however the haddock was perfect. We were served by a young waitress who made conversation and was very polite. At the end of our meal,... More

The last time I visited The Rock some years ago, the food was really poor. I thought I would give it another chance. Things did not start well when I was told that there was no record of my reservation. I had called them earlier that evening and provided full details including a contact telephone number. But fortunately they were... More

Everytime we go to the roaches to climb we finish the day here in this pub. The food is brilliant with a fast waiter service. The staff are very friendly. This restaurant has a large tasty menu, with dozens of drinks both bottled and on tap.

Spent an afternoon walking in the area during the recent sunshine and decided to stop off here for a bite to eat. We were delighted to learn that we could eat outside and lucky enough to grab a table as another family left. We had to go inside to get a menu and then again to place our order but... More

I have been coming here for a while now and have never been disappointed. I have tried most things on the menu including the "Hot Rock", the Sunday roast dinners and many of their specials and I have always enjoyed my meal. I have been here just with my wife, with some friends and for a large family get together... More

Pulling up on arrival the pub is set in beautiful surroundings, very well presented in 'traditional' country pub style. Lots of trinkets and interesting things to look at. We placed our drinks order, followed by our food order at the bar. The food was slightly highly priced at £10.50 for a vegetarian dish, but we don't mind paying a little... More

Hi, Thank you for your feedback though obviously I am disappointed at your experience. I am somewhat concerned at the issues that you raise and rest assured I shall be looking into each matter accordingly. The only thing I can comment on at the moment is that we are in the middle of reviewing each of the vegetarian dishes and... More

I'd like to thank Simon and everyone at Ye Olde Rock Inn for such a warm welcome on Sunday, and for such a delicious lunch. The food was fantastic and great value, and the service was friendly and efficient. We were a party of 26 people, we'd ordered our meals in advance, and we were catered for superbly. We popped in with friends for an early supper on St. Patricks Day - lots of colourful characters in there but a lovely friendly atmosphere. Food was good as was service and better still - we were left to "get on with it" - no constant checking that everything was alright!!! Def. will go again.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that you enjoyed your visit on St Patricks day. It can get quite lively and can be difficult to balance things for people dining with us and those enjoying the "festivities" of the St Patricks day celebration so it is good to hear that it worked well from your point of...
