Nicely off the main road and worth finding

This is just off the busy Leek to Buxton road but has calm and peace provided by the delightful building; easy parking; very friendly staff and great food, Service is reasonably quick but not to the detriment of the food. Generous but not overwhelming portions and very reasonable prices. This is a... read more

Limited menu, mostly all served with chips. Food was warm, not hot. The chips looked and tasted like they were reheated from lunch. We were not made to feel welcome. Recommend steering clear of this pub.

Recently visited The Rock as I have been a few times before but hadn't been in a while. It was a lovely afternoon so the drive was lovely though we were sad it didn't open until 6, though we stopped somewhere else first. I had the rump which was lovely, though it seemed a little burnt on the outside as... More

After a long walk we went in to the pub for a meal and a rest. We were greeted by welcoming staff. The food available was of good quality, pub fair and very enjoyable.

Went on a Sunday afternoon, 4 adults 3 children, food was excellent, Children's meal was very good value, which they all enjoyed, The Hot Rock Steak was a nice change to the traditional serving, and they suggested we spread ourselves out on another table, so thankfully the Hot Rock was out of reach of little fingers (we visitied 3.30pm taking... We enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch here today, a group of us had excellent Mixed Grills and the children's meals were good value too. In an old pub with character and nice food the staff are helpful and the selection of drinks/beers is good too. It's a little off the beaten track but it's worth seeking out. If you're... More

Great pub grub for a reasonable price in a lovely location. The adults ate off the specials board and they were well cooked and tasty. The children's meals were a great size and good selection. Although it was quite busy our wait was not long and the service was good. Will be calling again.
